Nerds are nerds. I wouldn't be shocked if someone actually went this route even though it's meant as hyperbole. I mean we all have our things. I remember when Revenge of the Sith came out and people used to say "Rots" instead of saying the letters of "ROTS" as in "rotting." It used to really get under my skin even though in reality it doesn't matter much. We all have our quirks

I honestly think if you put the robes over the armor, people wouldn't be making a fuss. It really does look like a polished version of the ANH suit. It's the same gloves, same suit, same helmet design, just looks new. Even antique cars were brand new once upon a time. I'm convinced they'll show Vader's suit getting damaged in the big battle in Rogue One to lead into ANH. This is the Vader we see in Rebels: polished, lethal, and in his absolute prime.

And he's up on BBTS! I put my order in. I haven't been so excited for a figure since ThreeZero announced Black Swordsman Guts.

This looks the best out of all the Rogue One designs so far. The groin piece is a little large and he looks like he should be taller, though. I hope he does come with the blade - makes little sense not having it.

Yeah, the new codpiece looks really different - very puffy and overstuffed, almost like a leather diaper really.

I'm already thinking about a back up plan if they don't offer the lightsaber blade.

Might pull off a blade from my sidious figure and hope it fits. Do slim SS blades fit in HT hilts?

Yep it's exactly the same as the ANH version right down to that awful nose plug and wrong paint apps. The only differences i can see are the cod piece,inner robe and gloves

The shoulder armor is entirely new, and from what I can see in the pictures, it perfect, aside from having an ESB/RotJ paint job.

He probably doesn't use his light saber.

He only uses his saber in the OT against other light sabers. He can stop blaster beams with his hands. I don't think he needs his light saber when facing non force users.

Also this isn't a Vader vs Rebels movie, I fully expect to barely see Vader in this movie. He'll probably be at the very end.

Not really sure about those perfectly clean and sharp pleats on the tunic. I wonder if it's that way in the movie, or if it's just HT's way of suggesting the rumpled and bunched up fabric from ANH?

It does look better than the overly flat tunic on the ANH figure at any rate.

The shoulder armor is entirely new, and from what I can see in the pictures, it perfect, aside from having an ESB/RotJ paint job.

I'm just gonna grab this guy to try mix and matching some parts, then sell off whatever doesn't work. Those gloves are a must for me as I don't have any customizing skills.

It seems everyone's in agreement it's the same helmet as the ANH version, with minor tweaks.

Forgive my ignorance: Is this basically the same suit as ROTS?

It's basically the ANH version, but shinier and cleaner. Based on what we all assume will happen in the movie, Vader's armour will go from nice and clean to worn and beaten, which is why, for story reasons, the suit is more weathered.

I didn't bite down on the HT ANH vader, as I have the SSC Deluxe vader, and prefer the ESB / ROTJ look... I just can't get past the single silver tusk or terrible gloves, so I thought I'd wait instead, even though.. that was SO HARD to do.

Now along comes this. Looks great, got the shiny helmet and polished look which is what I've always wanted for the leader of my Imperial army, the improved gloves, to silver tusks but NO LIGHTSABER?

Dammit! can't have it all I guess. I'm going to watch how this plays out, but I'm pretty much 80% IN, if the lightsaber appears then I'll be 100% in, and maybe I can swap my Deluxe cod piece with this puffy R1 cod piece and be able to live with it.

Does anyone know.. the chest box is same as ANH? I wonder if they've improved the battery system some how... Maybe I can just swap the chest and belt boxes from my deluxe as well and get a more ESB like Vader.

Can't decide whether I can cosign on this figure. I really like it because I don't have a vader and I get the lack of a lightsaber. I guess I can get one later

I think the drape of the cape over the shoulders is more screen accurate. That's one thing that bugs me about my ANH Vader. Gloves, shoulder pads and the overall look does look better at least in its promo pics. Let's see the in hand pictures. The ANH body looks a little chubby and stubby in comparison.

I am tempted but I know when the ESB or ROTJ version comes out it will most likely have a light up chest box. I can't own three Vaders.
