Everything collectible eventually reaches an oversaturation point. HT has finally hit that point, thus things are sitting instead of instantly selling out. It doesn't help that people ordered like 6 each of Supes and Jack thinking they'd be the next Mark I or DX Batman figure :lol

I'm of three minds on the subject...

1. Hot Toys are making more to go around

2. They're releasing so much that customers are choosing either instead of both

2. Customers are buying less, slowly leaving because of price, selection, QC etc...

well, on top that a lot of stuff are htting the market too, and most buyers dont just buy hot toys , they buy other stuff, and since the period of investing in hot toys is over with relaunches, there are enough of them to go around, but still they will sell out eventually
everyone who want one will get one instead of remaining in a scalpers hand..

I'd prefer to think of it as #1. That Hot Toys isn't in the business of making an artificially scarce product.

The thing is you can't really know. All you can do is pick which one you like.

Agree on all 3.

The last two releases that sold out were the TF exclusives - Batman and Iron Man. And the one that sold out quickly prior to them was Spiderman...and that seems like it was released ages ago. Indy DX, Tracker Predator, Mark V, Captain America, Jack DX, Superman, Classic Predator, Goblin etc are still in stock whereas you would've thought they would sell out immediately at release. Even figures that have been sold out for a while haven't sky rocketed in price like Berserker or Mark IV/VI because HT is perhaps producing more of these than there is demand for them and also like you said because there are SO many figures being released that a lot of folks are selling older releases much faster to acquire the newer ones. Its only going to get worse from here it seems. I'm anticipating some major sales during the year - feel like that has to happen for retailers to clean up their stocks.

GREAT points. I totally argree.

And its much smarter for HT toys to make more and have them take a little longer to sell out then to watch greedy scalpers make more than they do on their own product.

I think HT have grown massively over the years since I've been collecting & must be making much more of each figure due to demand but I remember when I 1st started collecting & figures weren't selling out straight away back then. I remember the MK I & P1 being around for quite awhile after release & then they became Grails to collectors. Price is another thing now I think, HT figure's have risen a lot over the past few years & alot of people can't afford as many as they once could & are becoming more picky. I remember paying £110 shipped for my Joker Dx, what's a Dx now £160, 170 + ??

No doubt price , selection and quantity they all have risen that could be the reason product is still out there

Monday, March 5, 2012 looks like the date they may be getting them in

And that is the first batch will have to see how long before they can fill all their orders including other retailers. They have a huge back log of stuff due out this year I am not sure how long it will take for them to release it all.

Given you can still order both the regular and EX from SS I'd imagine everyone who's ordered up till now will get there's as soon as SS has them. No partial shipments on this figure IMO
