just wish the abs werent that crappy rubber. the mark iv and vi were such an improvement. they could have done that again,

If you enjoy it then it shouldn't matter if the price drops or goes through the roof. These aren't stock certificates...they are toys.

I couldn't agree more with you there.

I see some of the figures I have skyrocket in price and drop well below what I paid but it doesn't bother me because I have it now and theres not much i can do about it. And I also consider them toys.

nope, in the movie they are indented. the first mark where they looked like screw heads, outdented, was innacurate.

So are recessed ;)
Yup, that's it exactly. :lecture
From what I've seen now, the rivets should be flush but these on the new unleashed version look recessed as if the rivets have been removed.

I'm getting it anyways, love the look of the MK II, inaccurate rivets and all.

Yeah the rivets should be flush, but that would be a paint effect and I'm guessing it's just too hard to do at this scale. The only reason they look different in the film is that they have a different brushed finish (radial instead of linear). No idea how you would achieve that effect with just paint.

So either protruding or recessed is an acceptable compromise to me.

That's usually gonna be more expensive than buying from Hong Kong right?

Yeah, probably $10 more at least not to mention for me CA State Tax which is always higher than shipping, but I like it so I'm getting it. :lol

Who is that in your signature Mike? She's soft and comely! :)

Miranda Kerr - MILF Unleashed variant.

......after! :)

Yeah, motherhood has been good to her.

The holographic guantlet is indeed cool. But It makes me wonder why they've never made a Stealth Predator figure now.

My guess is that this is the test. We'll see a Stealth Predator I'm sure as some sort of variant where the cloth parts are molded in the clear plastic. This is just a sign of what is to come.

I hope a revised MK I is in the works.

Agreed. Even with folks like Calcifer swearing up and down it won't happen, I still hope they just do it. The thing is that there isn't an angle I can think of where it'd be logical but with HT I've learned to never say never. If you told me that there'd be a Joker DX that pretty much wiped out the one before from the same film license I would have laughed, not to mention the DX Bats.

If and it's a big IF they can figure out a way to angle it in, hell if its so vastly improved they might just jump back into the Iron Man 1 license like they did with BB and do it, they will but right now its the longest of shots.

This is sweet! But I still dig the Mark II better. I say this mostly because I think IM 2 is not a very good film (the figures are top notch though!)

wow. they never stop with the mark suits, dont they? just gotta to milk it to the last drop.

i'm sorry, folks, but this is truly the most yawn inducing ht figure yet. for me. cant wait for more mark suits.... yawn.

Waaah, I want that holographic forearm gauntlet for my Mech Test Tony! Too bad it's a gift for VIPs only. :(

Hmmm on 2nd thought, this new release got me thinking if:
1. Will I get this & sell my old Mark II?
2. Will I pass on this cause I'm already satisfied w/ my original Mark II?
3. Will I get this & still keep my old Mark II?

Hmmm...:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

option 3. thats easy

I will probably get one and display it completely exposed since I have two Mark IIs already...

I paid $500 bucks for my MK II. :(

I'm hoping the price doesnt drop on it.

Dont feel bad. I just paid $550 for the exclusive right before they announced it. No use crying over it. I'm collecting all of them anyways.

I like the dark tone shadowing (weld marks?) appearance on the 1st version still. But I still like the new version as well. I'm getting the new one and keeping both

Looks good but i personally only need one Iron Man Suit in my collection... i don't feel the NEED to have them all... however, they do look cool in peoples collections.

This looks LOADS better than the first MKII, anyone who says differently is in denial.

M.

Agreed. This is my current thinking on new vs re-use.

I'm pretty sure of the following being new:

- The legs, hips, and pelvis are all new.
-- The legs are both thicker and different in the details. Note in particular the vent on the thigh.
-- The hips appear now to be similar to the Mark IV/VI hips with more of a square shape as it enters the thigh as opposed to the ball on the original.
-- This is harder to see but if you look at the panels on the pelvis armor they're all shaped differently and different sizes on the new one.

- The abdomen is new. You can especially tell in the close up pics it's both thicker (especially from the side) and a different sculpt.

- The under-structure of the chest is clearly a totally new sculpt when compared to the Mark III BD

- The biceps are either a re-tooling or a new sculpt as they have the removable panels.

- The head is a new sculpt or at the very least a re-sculpt. The chin is very noticeably narrower.

Things I'm unsure of:

- The feet, they might be new or not, it's really hard to tell.

- The chest plate may just be the Mark III BD plate with the added rivets.

- The shoulders might be new, they do seem to be a slightly different shape and larger than the old

- The air flaps appear to be similar if not the same as on the Mark III BD

Things I am sure are re-used

- The forearms are definitely the same as those on the Mark III BD just with added rivets. This is my biggest issue with the figure and the only one I really hope (but don't expect) them to fix.

- The lower exposed legs are re-used from the mech-test.

There may be some other minor new things and/or re-uses but I think that covers all the major components.

36 points of articulation. does this mean it wont have a stiff torso?

figure looks good

I still remain hopeful that they just haven't worked that out as of these pics. There ain't much hope, but there is some.

edit: the original Mark boasts the same number of POA.

Don't worry for those selling cheap mk II are those don't value the figure it self and just for the profit.
They're two different figures anyway.

The first one will definitely much cheaper now. BUT it will go up higher than before after the new version sold out.

it does look better than the previous effort. legs and thighs were too skinny then - too skinny to imagine tony's thighs and legs could be underneath the armor; here they are more proportionate. too bad the neck is still too long.

i cant blame those who are in denial though. remake is a ______ when you already got the original. an advise: set your standard high and be very nitpicky(it's a good thing, trust me), and if it doesnt meet the standard, skip the figs. so far, i've skipped ht's 1st bat, the 1st joker, the 1st jack sparrow, and now i've been rewarded with the superior dx versions for all 3.

Im still thinking the whole torso is all one solid plastic piece. not rubber

Based on this pic it looks like the internal mechanics merge with the edge of the abdomen. so it could be one mold, or it could just be paint. but i think if the abs were rubber , wouldn't they paint them separately
