definetely a better sculpt and design from the 1st mark II, but the shadowing paint scheme on the 1st looks much better.

gonna get this anyway. too bad HT is milking the IM line, this is gonna drop the value of the old IM :(

Looks good but i personally only need one Iron Man Suit in my collection... i don't feel the NEED to have them all... however, they do look cool in peoples collections.

This looks LOADS better than the first MKII, anyone who says differently is in denial.

M.

I only need one IM Suit in my collection (already have the MK IV),,,, BUT this new one has a different character inside...
... this is the excuse im gonna use to justify to the misses why i need this one,,,because i know shes gonna mention i already have one iron man :rotfl

So no Roady face ?

I can sell the extra mint-in-box Mark I for $1500 if I so desire, and it will sell. Let's call 'em "toy certificates".

Whoever pays that kind of money for that figure, or any other, has something loose in the head. They are nice but not that kind of money nice. Had the old MKII and sold it, but I will be picking this one up. Looks 10X better !

Looks like lots of back and forth over this piece. Honestly, as someone with original Mark II I'm cool with them making this. I'll get it and display it with the inner workings showing with the thought being this is it being taken apart to make War Machine.

Will they remake the Mark I? Its possible knowing HT. That thing is pretty damn perfect minus the Stark sculpt. So I would think its 50/50 at best but ya never know.

Yeah I could never do that. I have to date never paid more than retail for any toy. I have been collecting since around 1998 so that's 13 years of avoiding falling into that trap.

I likewise have never sold anything for more than retail. You know where my old Mark II is going? To a friend. Gratis. I've gotten more than my money's worth out of the Mark II. No need to try to recoup money, would rather help out a friend.

Ya I also gave away a couple of figures to my brother, IM MKIII being one of them.

Hot Toys is winning :lol

I very much doubt that they'll remake/rerelease the Mark I because:

1) it made no appearance in Iron Man 2, from which all these recent figures come. This new MkII is representative of the MkII seen in the second film, so as such it is not a re-release

2)what could they possibly add that would improve the figure, other than a new headsculpt? It would cost them a fortune to make new molds as, unlike the other marks, it's not as if they could re-use them from different figures, and i very much doubt they'll still have the olds ones seeing as the MkI was released years ago

I don't think Hot Toys can really be accused of 'milking' the Iron Man line. They are just trying to be completist and cover all the figures from the films, in all their various incarnations. Each figure is generally an improvement over the last, so it's not as if they're just resting on their laurels and churning out the same old tat time after time

I personally think this latest release sets the way for a fantastic diorama; Mech Test tony working on this version of MkII (an a table that would be very cheap and easy to make), using the Mech Test backdrop or some kind of modified version of it, and the other marks lined up on their light-up bases around it.

Is that Tony Stark Holographic figure a exclusive thing only released somewhere.

I want that tony stark one!!!

As cool as that Mark 2 looks, i camt justify it as i have the original Mark 2.

And not just that but there are other Iron Man figures like the Whiplash armour to do first, as well as at least some Tron Legacy figures, before milking iron man even more.

For all those saying that Hot Toys is milking Iron Man; I will say this.

If I spent 10's of thousands of dollars to get a license, 10's of thousands in R&D, 10's of thousands in production, & 10's of thousands in staff dollars, insurance or whatever other expense; you better damn well believe I'm going to try & my money back & then some to keep the lights on in the building.

She's a MILF now? :dunno

Yes. Orlando Bloom implanted his spawn in her.

It did in the Hall of Armors as did the BD MKIII but I get what you are saying that the MK II actually served a function whereas the other two were just display pieces.

2)what could they possibly add that would improve the figure, other than a new headsculpt? It would cost them a fortune to make new molds as, unlike the other marks, it's not as if they could re-use them from different figures, and i very much doubt they'll still have the olds ones seeing as the MkI was released years ago

This is a logical argument but let's assume that they do in fact come out with Iron Monger and you have a chance to create something with newer technology that does actually improve it into something we can't see the applications for to something in a bulky frame like the Mark I. New molds wouldn't be neccesarily need as you are improving not from the ground up reinventing. The new Mark II doesn't have all new molds, some but not all.

Now realistically it probably won't happen, I'm not saying it will but I am not sure enough to say no definitively given that I've seen HT improve on past pieces without much issue and I don't actually work there so I can't say if its on the table or not. Remember we all thought an Iron Monger was an impossibility based on interviews with HT yet it might actually get here.

As for the "milking" the license issue. Let's be honest, if they didn't sell then they wouldn't make them. HT isn't milking anything, we are. If we didn't buy this release and it tanked, they'd move on, they've done a dozen times but these things sell out no problem and collectors continue to flock so they are just giving more of what is being requested. Supply and Demand.

It's real nice but I'm a bit let down by the color. I wish it was more chromed, like in the movie (and like the custom repaint by Greg, which I cannot find a picture of)

Also, regarding the Holographic Forearm Gauntlet Exclusive, I guess I'll just wait for a cheap version to appear on ebay. Remenber how much those crushed helmets exclusive were selling for? Well...
