Don't defend IMDB. Please. It's not worth your time.

People rate movies 1's and 10's without seeing it. Most do this. It's a well known fact.

Most do this, and this is a fact? Please, show me your proof :dunno :cuckoo:

IMDB's formula adjusts for exactly that sort of irregular voting pattern.
Law of averages. Look it up. It works. Well known fact.

The proof is the whole history of the universe. :wave

And i already know that i have the greatest username on here anyway.

Because 250253 users rated Rises a perfect 10. And 6989 users rated it a 1.

More people rated it a 10 then any other rating. A solid 10. That means the film is perfect. In every possible way. That isn't logical. That isn't an opinion. That's a fanboy's rating to boost it up.

And it's the same thing to the 1's. That is just trollish. The film is not a perfect storm of ****. They only did it to bring it down.

Come on. You're smarter then that. IMDB is trash. Everyone there is trash. It's fun to visit...but taking ANYTHING seriously there is just dumb. The Dark Knight was rated the greatest film of ALL time. ALL TIME. Think about that.

Rotten Tomatos is a more credible source. Use that. It's has a solid positive rating. IMDB will probably already rated Nolan's new film a 10/10 before it was even written. It's insane. The worst forum on the internet that has to do with film.

You're right. 9.2 is too high.

9.0 is better. Also, disliking something well loved to intentionally anger the fans is never a good idea. When has it ever gone well?
You would honestly rate that show 9 out of 10? That is absolutely insane. 6/6.5 out of 10 is a rational and accurate rating for Firefly.

I don't dislike the show to anger the fans, I don't even really dislike the show. It's just there. An overrated, boring show I don't really care about anymore.

I'm one of those 250253. It's a 9.5 for me. Which rounds to 10.

It might have its fair share of ignorant users but it's far and away the most representative internet movie rating database there is for the general audience. Please show me a better one (not talking about critics here). A very small proportion of those that rate films on IMDB actually post anything on its forums.

Rotten tomatoes is ok, but it treats a reviewer giving a film a 3/5 or a 5/5 the same. Both Fresh. Metacritic is far better when looking at critic ratings as it actually uses the scores.

IM2 a mess- but enjoyable and watchable- a GOOD film not a very good or great film. Wasted opportunity

I wouldn't rate anything, anymore. But I love the show with all my heart. Great characters. Great writting. Great action. It's an almost perfect show. Would've been if it had 2 more seasons.

It's a show loved by many, and you're acting like everyone is wrong. Good luck with that. I hate when people do that kind of ****.

You don't have to like it. But don't pretend to be Mr. Hipster going against the grain. Show doesn't work for you. Fair enough. It's not everyone's cup of tea. But just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you're the right one here.

QFT.
It's like people trying to convince you *their* team is the right one to support.
Or *their* political candidate is who *you* should vote for.
There is no right or wrong review of a movie or tv show. It's all down to opinions.
You don't like Firefly?
Fair enough.
It doesn't lessen me when people don't like things i like.
But i don't require everyone to think as i do and like the things i like either, and don't take offence at differing opinions.
I have to admit, i generally get along very well with fans of Firefly(In the same way that i usually get along very well with other people who own cats).
It takes a certain something to be a Firefly fan. Not everyone is capable of seeing the genius. And there's nothing wrong with those that don't see the genius.
In an ideal world, we would be tuning in right now to season 11 of Firefly...(Well, some of us would be...).
:rotfl

I'm constantly changing the way I view films every day. It's important for what I'd like to do. Everyone sees films differently, and I like to see why. I like understanding why a film appeals to this group, over that group.

Which is why I have ceased to use the word "overrated". It's such a trashy nonsense word. It means nothing. Because who's the film overrated too? You? Well yes. It is. The people who love it don't find it overrated. Only the person who doesn't. Which negates everything it stands for entirely.

It's not anywhere near perfect. That's just crazy talk.

There was no "great action". There was just your average, run-of-the-mill TV show action.

The only somewhat interesting characters were Malcolm and Jaine. And they weren't very interesting. :lol

We've seen all the other characters before. Nothing special or unique about them. There's the pilot. Who uh, pilots the ship and makes an unfunny joke every once in a while. Oh and he's married to the black girl that was in war with Malcolm. She's real tough and always follows her captain's orders. Cool. There's the doctor. Who is very delicate and every now and then gets to be important by saving someone whose been injured. Boring character. Then there's his crazy, psychic little sister who's always getting in trouble and has the most cringe-worthy dialogue in the show. Uhg. And space monk guy with weird hair style and mysterious past that always knows the right thing to do. He's...there too.

Did I forget anyone? Oh, right. Han sol -- I mean Malcolm's love interest, Princess Le -- I mean Morena Baccarin. So uh, yeah. She loves Malcolm. Malcolm loves her. They won't tell each other. She's also a space prostitute.

And the plot? They're space bounty hunters that travel to different planets (all of which look exactly the same) and go on wild western adventures.

6/6.5 - 10 Accurate rating.

It takes a certain something to be a Firefly fan. Not everyone is capable of seeing the genius. And there's nothing wrong with those that don't see the genius.
There isn't anything genius about the show.

I never understood personal "ratings" nor have I ever understood other people's desire to obsess over a film's critical reception. I mean I do sort of understand it, it's a way for people to sort of justify what they like and dislike I guess, but that gets obnoxious after a while. You either like it, love it, dislike it, hate it or feel it was average and forgettable. That's it.

You like what you like and that's it really. Who cares how these other interweb users feel? I'm seeing a film for me, not some popularity contest.

I agree. However, when trolls try to portray that 'most people thought movie xx was crap' when that's blatantly untrue from a survey of all the evidence out there, they must be smacked down. :lecture :lol

Anyone else notice Happy's line about replacing the staff with robots and that tony had them stored downstairs?? (something along those lines)

Screams Ultron in the making to me, maybe in Ant-man Tony & Pym modify them......

Anyway...
Saw IM3 last night and loved it!

It was fun and funny, had great action both with and without the armor, and was and overall great experience.

Looking forward to more Marvel stuff.
