Remember the feeling of watching the WTF moments in the SW prequels, Indy IV, Spider-Man 3, the Pirates and Matrix sequels, and to some extent TDKR? Well this movie has a few of those.

Shark-jumping is becoming as much of a staple of huge Hollywood franchise movies as the overuse of cgi.

The ability to be even remotely sublime is now lost on many :(

but it is done in a lot of movies, how is it different for this one.

Extremis Killian is actually a better villain with the way the story is.

TDKR did this with Bane. the actual villain pulling the strings was Talia.

At least on TDKR and BB all were bad-*****... not a
alcoholic-junkie with whores and basically being an idiot...

Oh gawd now I know there's another villain! :gah:

Stop reading this thread dude...

I actually think this one is much worse than the Pirates and Matrix sequels... this one is close to
Jar Jar Binks territory, it's only saving grace is that Kingsley is a gifted actor... which is kind of the irony here... :(

I love how divided this all is. This place isn't the only board where these discussions are happening either. It's all over the place. :lol

I'm guessing the "twist" is Mandarin builds a huge IM suit to fend off the army of iron men tony made.

Yup, sounds stewpud, passing fo sho now.

Before I saw it I was afraid Mandarin would "turn" good and save Tony from Killian:rotfl

At least on TDKR and BB all were bad-*****... .

Begins yeah (Neeson was dope), but Bane and Talia weren't bad *****.

Same twist **** and the same "girlfriend comes and kills off villain.

Ben Kingsley > Tom Hardys and French Lady with death scene lolz

you consider Talia and the Asian guy acting like Ras al'ghul bad-*****?

I don't even care about "the twist", just at how overly goofy it was. And the over-the-top action and tech is so far-fetched at times it makes Thor's Asgard stuff seem downright realistic.

Couldn't have put it better myself... to add to #4

Like someone else said, Pepper saving the day didn't help either.

Yes I did not get it what the main villians were after...their goal..to create an army of these guys to...get the President?......I must have missed it in all the mayhem of the final 20 minutes

Cripes you REALLY don't like TDKR, do you?:lol

Compared to Kingsley yes... they are bad-*****,,,
:lol

Come on guys... seriously... you cannot tell me that it is not silly, stupid and bait & switch... :gah:

And what's wrong with that! Mandarin aside..If it's a IM film it should have IM! :gah:

The twist is harder on some because it is so OVER THE TOP 180 degrees what you expect Mandarin to be........

and it was all intentionally that by the filmmakers

Yeah rather than being a twist like in BB, it was done for cheap laughs. Trevor was great but Mandarin would've been excellent

Don't forget this guy,

Looking back, that was actually weird. What was the point of showing him?

Bane was great until the Talia bait and switch.

Killian being the actual Mandarin was great because he could destroy Iron Man. the way this movie was written, Ben kingsley's Mandarin would be destroyed by the "flimsy" iron man armor

Your wife is a very smart woman.

:hi5:

Can someone explain the ending to me, did Stark retire or not?

Was it that he would no longer waste time building all those remote suits?

The one thing that didn't bother me in the movie was the big secret.

The idea behind that made sense, if only the villain had a final purpose though, he didn't.

It's silly and over the top (it was meant to be), but I don't think it's stupid.

I've never seen anything like it before, it was a genuine surprise and it was well executed with Kingsley's performance. Kingsley was intimidating and pathetic. That's pretty hard to achieve.

Well he no longer has to get in the suit as it can be remotely controlled
I think his "retirement" is open ended....
he'll be back, rest assured:wink1:
