Saw this last night and it was a mixed bag for me. I was entertained for half it and wishing tony was in the suit more for the other half. This was like TDR in that we got a lot of Bruce Wayne/ tony and not much of them in the suit. The remote controlled suit idea was stupid, it takes away the suspense and drama.. who cares if they blow up or get damaged if stark isn't in them. Since when do the suits break so easily, tony should have been crushed by Thor in avengers if they were that weak, also how did the suit not get torn up in the propeller in avengers??

I am sort of surprised that its getting such high marks by critics since this movies logic doesn't match up with what came before it. Why doesn't his arc reactor power the suit anymore?? Why did he have to charge it with looked to be a cheap $35 portable car battery charger. Why didnt he call in the army of suits earlier??

Also I assume he injected himself with the extremis stuff because I can't understand how they could all of a sudden pull the shrapnel out without killing him. Wasn't the fact that he needed the arc reactor kind of the point of his character and what made him unique.

Either way, I will watch it again so it wasn't that terrible, but I think this movie will prove to do more damage then good to ironman character and what made him and his suits unique. Where do they go from here with the character??

They better explain why the suit isn't torn apart so easily in the next avengers or nobody will believe him going up against big bad enemies and not being destroyed. What a mess for JW to fix

I gotta agree with you Josh. Other than IP doing nothing, the suit falling apart via truck impact and the firework armors, though I understand why they went there, there was little I didn't like. I was even okay with the Super Pepper stuff. I was surprised by the twists, the humor and I had a lot more fun with it than IM2 or KotCS which isn't a fair comparison imo.

Yeah, I could pick a few things but for me they're so minor it's not worth doing so. I will say I enjoy both those movies and have them at home. They're not perfect either but they're entertaining for me and that's all I can ask.

Same.

If I could make changes, some of the other suits would have been featured alot more and Iron Patriot, well.... :monkey1

I would tweak the IP stuff some to
Make him cooler and I did really like that heartbreaker armor. That may end up as my favorite from this movie.

Like it or hate it, I think we can all agree IM3 was ballsy. Personally, I prefer ballsy writing to playing it safe. YMMV :dunno

Bummed for you guys who didn't get what they needed from this film.

Holy crap

175 million weekend

the 5/2 start definately helped

I see the same for Thor 2, he's grown in popularity after Avengers.

MOS has its work cut out for it.

That was my biggest gripe... between the nighttime ending and the smaller screen I saw it on, I couldn't tell which suits were fighting half the time. Got a good shot of Igor, too bad it was exactly the commercial plus, what? Maybe 4 to 5 seconds extra. I really was hoping to see some of these wild armors in action. Even if they were small scenes, like show Tony at the start working in his space suit on a Stark satellite for absolutely no reason except to help Hot Toys rake in money and make old fanbois like me happy. :(

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that: it was brazen. So much so that for some it sneaked past that fine line between bravery and stupidity.

...and RDJ continues to be Feige's Golden Ticket.

Sorry guys but that end battle with all those suits was a complete mess.

Way too over complicated for no reason whatsoever.

Slow things down, make us care.

Because....
AM I the only one who thought when that cave opened and all those suits poured out that RDJ was going to get in the Heartbreaker and just rip Killian's head off and **** down his throat while the other suits took out the minor baddies?

I guess I read too much into the extra suits in the press and which ones were being made into toys, because in my mind I had the Heartbreaker made out to be his Ace up his sleeve.

MoS will be fine. In fact , they wouldn't even show that trailer before IM3 at my theater. It was just marvel trailers wolverine and Thor. I don't really blame marvel foe that.. if they had included that man of steel trailer it would have made the marvel trailers look stupid. This MOS movie will be in a class of its own much like the first ironman and TDK

And yes the wife liked the Thor trailer too, but only cause she was worried what happens to portmans character. Take that scene out and that trailer is blah

True, Hemsworth not RDJ so I could be wrong about Thor 2.

Wolverine, MoS, and Thor 2 all previewed before IM3. The only movie my wife said we need to see was Thor 2, I think you're right, Hemsworth has his own flock.

I think BO Mojo was predicting $177. $175 is nuts and hopefully it keeps its legs to make a **** ton of money. I also think Thor 2 will knock it out. The first film was badass and this one is looking even better IMO.

MOS will do very well I think. That film looks pretty darn exceptional.

Yeah, on a small screen that ending could be rough. All that was added of igor was his back being a brace for the that crane.

The night we saw it in IMAX we got Lone Ranger, Wolverine, Thor 2, Star Trek, and Man of Steel. Went back yesterday to catch what I missed when I had to leave got everything but this time FF6 switched with MoS.

Here's a thought;

Right now the DC / MoS people are scrambling, because in the MoS movie, General Zod is actually just an actor. The real villain is some guy who was one of the kids on the bus that Clark saved when he was a kid. His life went to hell after that accident, and he's pissed at Clark because he feels that he would have been better off dying in the bus accident.....

Just saw this and though it was okay. It was a fun ride but, IM2 was a more cohesive movie.

Some things that bother me in IM3:
1) Tony struggles without armor much of the movie, then just calls in a buttload of armor at the end. Did I miss something? Why didn't he just call them in earlier?

2) Tony makes all of this makeshift weaponry to go all ninja at the AIM mansion. Why didn't he hit up the gun store?

3) How does Tony have an Audi in rural Tennessee?

4) Does the Arc reactor not power the armor anymore? Why couldn't it recharge the Mark 42?

5) Rhodey can't use any of the armor called in by Tony at the end...but Pepper gets the Mark 42 in the Malibu Mansion attack.
