I remember reading this the day after the movie was released. It was immediately discredited only to have been sort of confirmed by various folks to do with the film. No one really has been given a definitive answer on how it connect and one thought is that Faverau put it in as a throwaway Easter Egg nothing more, but he can't say much about it because any connections to the Avengers film has been kept mum so one has to think its legitly placed.

Just got back from watching this for the 1st time- really great flick! My Wife actually enjoyed it too, so that's really saying someting (the first superhero flick she actually liked!)

Finally got to see this one today, absolutely fantastic movie! I think it's now my favorite Superhero film ever made. A dream come true for this fan, Iron Man was the first comic I ever bought at about 4 years old, never thought I'd see it so faithfully translated to film.

I didn't mind Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, at least we'll get an Avenger's movie sooner then later.

I like my heroes to look like who they are supposed to look like.

However, I think SLJ is more Nick Fury than David Hasselhoff.

Best Marvel comic movie so far IMO.

Number one movie two weeks in a row. Should be interesting to see just how much it makes once its run is done. Its possible for it to do the number one again but will have hard competition from Narnia....will definitely slip by Indy but I wonder how long it'll be in the top 10

For anyone who missed the post-credits scene, it's really nothing major. Everyone knows Sam L. Jackson shows up as Ultimate Nick. It actually wasn't really worth watching. I'm actually more interested in seeing Tony Stark show up in the new Hulk movie. That'll be a treat!

Whats the chance that Downey will make his appearance in The Hulk after the credits as Sam Jackson did???

Saw it yesterday. Pretty good movie. Until Iron Monger showed up. That was not a very inventive turn the flick took. But that Iron Man... what a cool Super Hero he is! Strange that he gave up his secret ID during the press conference. Wonder how the life of a Super Hero turns out to be when everyone knows their 'true ID'... .

i liked it. I see they had a hint that the mandarin might be villain #2. The name of the terrorists were"the 10 rings"! that seems like a hint to me of the Mandarin ( the one main terrorist kept spinning his ring, to make sure you saw it).

Finally went and saw it. It reminded me of a local hero, Ned Kelly. I could see some similarity there. I was very impressed, and agree it's the best superhero movie to date. The interaction between good and bad reminded me, in part, of Spiderman. As I drove home, I wondered if Marvel were going to keep redressing the same style in following superhero movies. Still, it was exciting and refreshing, and I'm pumped for Hot Toys releases.

I would have thought more people would have gotten wind of the final scene, but most of the viewers left, once the credits started rolling. I was compelled to ask the ones shuffling past me, 'aren't you staying for the final scene?" I was ignored.

Just saw it last night for the first time. AWESOME MOVIE! I haven't read this whole thread but did anyone else get a serious "Robocop 2" vibe from the finale? Huge bulky robot vs. human sized robot, fighting under buildings, on rooftops, and city streets. Human robot jumps on top of the big one and pulls out some crucial wired components from the back of its neck. Very cool. Loved the climaxes of both movies. :D

I saw this after the onslaught of "best superhero movie ever" hype and it still didn't disappoint! Fantastic origin story and an all around great movie. They did a great job of keeping everything fresh while still following what is really a very common formula for a comic book origin tale.

I like that instead of the new superhero checking back alleys for muggers during his initial outing he instead watches the news, puts on his suit, and just heads to Afghanistan for some good old fashioned payback/clean up work. Can't wait to own this on Blu-Ray!
