I was playing Metal Gear 1 to kill time yesterday and some questions came to mind. Who was Snake talking to on the radio? Was it the real or Fake Boss? Also, why did the Patriots allowed both the real and fake boss to operate independently since a) they created fake boss as a decoy in 1984 and b) the real boss is operating within their ranks in FOXHOUND? Wut???

Also, how is it possible that Solid Snake didn't recognize the end boss was a decoy since he was trained by the real Big Boss? With 11 years behind MGSV, you'd think both bosses would have looked differently due to vastly different environmental variables.

1) real one
2) Who knows, the series hasn't gone full circle.
3) They wouldn't look that different, different clothes and scars but they have the same face after all, still, series hasn't gone full circle.

Because the series stopped making sense.

Your words and deeds are sufficient for now. Do feel ashamed that as MGS fans, you still can't provide a definitive answer. :lol

Also, I guess I give a pass on Snake not recognizing Fake Boss since he's known to have been duped by people disguising as his superiors. :lol

It could be a possibility, but I don't think fans have any better ideas than Kojima.

I've read quite a few MGSV "closure" fanfics and boy do they all suck ****.

I have one-

After MGS2 Raiden's failed assassination of Big Boss in MGS3, newly upgraded MGR Raiden tries again. He goes back in 1974 to confront the Peace Walker A.I, leaps 60 feet into the air and proceeds to Zandatsu all the singing mechs, thus erasing the events of PW and MGSV. Kaz tries to intervene, charging at Awesome Raiden but had 5 of his teeth knocked out thus setting him straight instead of the "revenge" nonsense of MGSV.

Terrified, Big Boss and Kaz attempts to hide in a carboard box together but can't escape Awesome Raiden's cybernetic heat detection eye piece and slashes the box with his awesome HF balde, revealing both men cuddling each other in their swimwear. Raiden intimidates both men by saying, "I want to see you go mad with power in 1995 and nothing more! No more BS or I'll be back."

Now, with only the events of MGS4 left bound to happen, Awesome Raiden, a cyborg time traveler, has a backup plan- A man named Senator Armstrong. He rips Armstrong trough the space time continuum into the year 1974 and Armstong, seemingly knowing something that us confused audience does not, nods approvingly. His mission, is to have him in office so the events of Guns of the Patriot never happened. "No more nannomachines crap!" yelled Armstrong as he high fived Raiden who is about to head back to the future.

Finally accepting that his army is in shambles and that time and space has been altered, Big Boss admits that this is for the best. As Raiden is about to return to his time, Big Boss extends his hand, and Raiden embraces him, saying "I know now why you cry, but it's something I could never do because I'm too busy being awesome in my own game and you're a sissy" and disappears into the time portal.

With Raiden gone, Big Boss, still in tears embracing Kaz, came to a realization. "The future is not set. If a machine- a cyborg could learn the value of being awesome, maybe I can too."

Roll credits.

Metal Gear Rising 2: Judgement Day.

I am too drink for this.

In the mid credits scene, Raiden opens a portal into the White House, with one George Sears totally wasted. Now Raiden and the man known as Solidus Snake is face to face. Raiden tosses a box on the President's desk, and steps back into the portal. Solidus opens it, and it contains a body part and reads a note: "Since you killed my parents, I killed ************ when you were 15, Next is your spine on top of Federal Hall!"

Sears, horrified and now missing a body part, begins R&D into exo powered suits, thus setting the events of MGS2 in motion.

Just so we're clear, we can all say that Metal Gear Rising 2: Judgement Day would be ****ing amazing. unless you're one of those idjits who still denies MGR's amazingness. :lecture

Hell that story would be great if we add a little more...subsistence :monkey3

Love Raiden and love you guys but I can't get into Rising. I JUST CAN'T LIKE IT!!!

I never bought Ground Zeroes or MGSV, just played them on a friend's machine. Might get this...

As an aside, does anyone else here just wait for modern games to get a 'complete' release now? I skipped Deus Ex Human Revolution and Arkham City on launch, and picked them up later when the Director's Cut and GOTY Edition came out respectively. For £6 each on Steam, no less.

Well...at least you played them because I'm pretty sure we have posers who never even touched the game :lol

It depends on the game and what they get. Uncharted's DLC is pretty much all multiplayer and not related to the campaign, so there's no reason for that. While Arkham City did have a lot of content on the side and for single player so it was worth that, and I did get GOTY but I mostly waited too long due to no funds and other games taking a bit of priority.
