Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's really no surprise this isn't a bogus ploy for the game. Kojima is a sellout and to be honest he is inferior to most gaming directors nowadays.

Like I said before, way to handle your longest serving actor by following Garbage and Troy Baker. Kojima never mentions Hayter by name let alone Tweet to him. Is David Hayter taboo to Kojima now? :dunno

P/s: Damn that's harsh Plis! :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's harsh, but its how I feel. MGS has become Japanese mainstream in every sense of the word. They never valued the American speaking audience, that's crystal clear.

I hope Hayter gets scooped up by another company becomes the lead in a new IP.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Dude, what do you mean MGS has become Japanese mainstream? :dunno

Honest question.

I definitely see PW skewing a little bit more to Japanese pop culture but the rest of the series.... well no, in fact IMO they're far from being Japanese mainstream.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well I see the series maintaining a standard tone when it comes to Japanese influences, just PW stands out as a big freak show compared to the rest, but so far MGSV looks pretty sober to me.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Freak show :lol

MGSV feels like it's back on track from the trailers, but I still have the feeling it will have more swishy Japanese humor themes in it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The camera thing has been there since MGS1, I tell you, I wouldn't mind a little photo session with Quiet...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Kiefer Sutherland will replace David Hayter as the voice of Snake, though fans are convinced this is red herring.

No it's not. David Hayter went so far as to unfollow Kojima on Twitter.

That just speaks volumes about what's actually going on.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Im very surprised Hayter unfollowed him on twitter. I hoping its not cause he spoke with KojiPro and they said they'd never use him again :(

Probably because Kojima follows Troy Baker, Geoff Keighley and Garbage and not him. (love Garbage and Baker btw). Plus Kojima never gave him the attention he deserves- no mentions, shoutouts, nuthin'. I find that rather insulting. You can tell right away these two are not on good terms.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That's primarily why I don't want a MGS 1 remake. Most likely, Kiefer Sutherland will have to redo the voice work as Snake, because Hayter won't be back. I really don't understand how people who call themselves fans of the series can support something like that.

You're going to get flamed from the dudebros. Accepting Kiefer as a complete replacement as a fan shows that you were never a fan at all.
