Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

YEs, it's just...not. I personally want to like this series, but part of me just doesn't get it? I still think there is a bit of disconnect with a Japanese game maker, trying to make games with a N American appeal.
I dunno. I'm often confused with the story and all the things going on at times.

I loved and played MGS 1 and 2, and after that kind of lost interest in a way.

I get what you mean man believe me. They just aren't made for an English audience.

I think sometimes you guys loose context, MGS4 is certainly one of the weakest in terms of storytelling, which still ends up being much better than most games, gameplay-wise is IMO the best so far.

The fact that is not as good in terms of storytelling as the previous ones, doesn't mean it's not one of the greatest games of all time.

The godfather 3 comes to mind :lol

I'm no fanboy nor casual :nono

Imo MGS4 is better then MGS 2 in terms of storytelling fun boss fights and act 4 alone.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I have never had an experience with a video game like I did when I played MGS4. I had been waiting for the answers that were promised since I was 10 years old and simply couldn't wait. It was literally the last game I finished in one sitting and called into work for. Does it have some problems? Yes. But its probably still my favorite in the series but then again MGS2 is my second favorite and it tends to be liked less too.

Plus there is stuff that I find really cool like how Snake takes apart the M4 with the magazine and a bullet just like you can IRL, also how he flicks the safety up on the AK when the MKII first shows up. Its basically gun porn but I like it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Pretty much every metal gear game you only need to watch the last 10 minutes to get the story. Otherwise its just a heap of not knowing whats going on followed by plot twist and miss-information

Just read that article. Man, talk about going senile! :slap

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well, at least Kojima is finally seeing, that he's screwing up the continuity of MGS. It's a point that several of us have been heralding here to no avail.

Also, what the heck does this even mean?

Kojima also admitted that at one point while writing The Phantom Pain, he thought the main character was Solid Snake instead of Big Boss and had to redo over thirty pages of dialogue.

Does it even matter at this point the story will be all over the place .

This is great.

I am sure I can fix all of the mistakes in the sequel or the next one although I think I might be running out of time until Metal Gear happens. Maybe I will just write that and Metal Gear 2 out completely as a dream or something.”
