Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Kiefer Sutherland will replace David Hayter as the voice of Snake, though fans are convinced this is red herring.

No it's not. David Hayter went so far as to unfollow Kojima on Twitter.

Damn yo, did he un-friend him on Facebook too!? :lol

Cause if he did, there's no coming back from that.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

You're going to get flamed from the dudebros. Accepting Kiefer as a complete replacement as a fan shows that you were never a fan at all.

They've practically taken over the franchise. I just hope that Kojima remembers what helped make this series a success, and doesn't get too caught up in modernizing things - in that, the future games become "MGS" in name only.

As far as I know, neither Hayter nor Kojima have Facebook accounts. Unfollowing someone from Twitter is as bad as it gets :lol.

Notice how Kojima didn't mentioned that this will be his "last" MGS game (seriously, it's gettin' really old by now), and that he mentioned how the new facial capture would be used in future MGS games.

What will hold for the future of MGS? I think Kojima might think it's Bond by having new actors for the role each time he feels like it.

That's an interesting point. I just don't believe that Kiefer will be as committed to MGS as David was. He's a professional actor, and I doubt that he'll want to commit himself to a video game series - when he has even admitted, that he's not a gamer by any means. In addition, 24 is returning to Fox in the fall, and that series alone takes up all of his time.

KojiPro has said that TPP is going to be released in episodic contents, similar to a TV series. So, it's going to be hilarious if Kojima suddenly finds himself without a voice actor, in the middle of the show :lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Just stick to stealth *******. I think Kojima knows he's over his head in the gaming world. Don't worry about gameplay or scope, just concentrate on writing a good story like you did 20 years ago.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I remember the times when MGS1/2>>> anything out on the market. :lol

Nowadays big franchises like Uncharted, Batman, Bioshock etc thrive because they are no bs hidden during the marketing of the games. They promise buckets of fun and they end up delivering.

With MGSV, all these marketing gimmicks doesn't add up to much, at least for me.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Maybe this will be delayed now since Kojima thinks he can improve on his game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

When people say MGS4 is one of the greatest games of all time, I want to projectile vomit in their face.

Fans boys and casual players will say anything thats like people saying wolverine origins the movie was enjoyable.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Origins was pretty mediocre, although The Wolverine looks awesome. I don't get that nervous feeling like it's going to be **** like I did with the Origins trailers.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I saw a video about the whole Kiefer "conspiracy." I'm wondering if Kiefer is really this Ishmael character we initially saw in that first video and is actually Decoy Octopus pretending to be Big Boss for some reason. Then we'll have Hayter and Sutherland. It jives with all of Hayter's comments on twitter and everything.

YEs, it's just...not. I personally want to like this series, but part of me just doesn't get it? I still think there is a bit of disconnect with a Japanese game maker, trying to make games with a N American appeal.
I dunno. I'm often confused with the story and all the things going on at times.

I loved and played MGS 1 and 2, and after that kind of lost interest in a way.

They actually did very well considering. The only thing that always gets me is Snake's salute in MGS4, that's totally a Japanese style salute, not American Military.
