Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm sure that we will play solid snake the second part of the game! just like mgs2! Kojima would never change the voice of Snake except for storytelling purpose :)

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

As weird as it sounds, that almost makes me want to boycott. To me David Hayter is just as much Solid Snake and MGS as anything else. That's a huge disappointment.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure he kept the original Japanese actor.

He did that in MGS4 for Liquid Ocelot. For some reason the japanese had Liquid's voice and we got Revolver's.

That being said, I'll be playing this game in Japanese. No David Hayter makes me too sad

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

This new metal gear is a reboot explains why hayter isn't involved the v in the title means victory according to Kojima.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I really despise Kojima anymore. He's completely ruined the franchise.

To think we're all foaming about Rising way back. This is even worse. Kojima well knows that Big Boss is way overexposed and now the smug statement of not having David Hayter is okay by his standards.

Exactly.

I understand Big Boss is popular, but ****ing enough already! I just don't care about his back story enough to have him in four ****ing games straight!

I can't believe this but I think Metal Gear Rising really did it right since it's a complete off shoot from the series and doesn't effect the main franchise's integrity.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

He want on to say he might let the L.A studio of his company take control of metal gear after this game.

He's officially a sell out. To let this franchise be controlled by a western developer might be the biggest fail in gaming history.

The western influence is the reason MGS4 was a failure thanks to Ryan ****ing Payton.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I might as well get used to the fact MGS1 MGS2 and MGS3 are as good as it will ever get.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Don't forget Ghost Babel!

It was non canon, but at least it was true to the source material.

At this point, in terms of advancing the story MPO is superior to PW and probably GZ or TPP... why is there two ****ing games?

He's permanently ****ing up MGS, hopefully he doesn't do it to ZOE.

Maybe they will breathe new life in the franchise I doubt it though.

He want on to say the game is very long.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I know I keep saying, but I just don't have any investment in the franchise anymore. Even when we got the original trailer for this game, I didn't have much excitement for it since it's just another repackaged, uninteresting Big Boss episode.

Yup, a minor trivia though -at the end of Ghost Babel someone congratulates the player (Jack) for completing the missions. It strongly hints that it is none other than one of Raidens' simulated mission prior to MGS2.

As for Big Boss and MGSV, I don't think there's any intrigue to the character anymore, it really does seems unnecessary to tell more Big Boss tales and in the end leaves nothing to the imagination. Kojima mentioned this is a reboot of some sorts, but no one asked him what is he trying to achieve by telling more Big Boss stories. Someone should ask him that.

He would probably just respond by showing them what he had for lunch. It seems that's all the man does on Twitter.

I'm starting to believe he isn't as smart as everyone thinks he is.

MGS1 and MGS2 were marvels of story telling and depth. I'm starting to believe they are both flukes.
