Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm starting to believe he isn't as smart as everyone thinks he is.

Given some thought, I think he's a guy who thinks outside the box, but such talent is a double edged sword. He never seems to have someone to stop him and say no.

My first disappointment with Kojima was his treatment of Jeremy Blaustien and Agness Kaku. Those were serious warnings that us fans choose to overlook.

Not trying to be a **** but didnt you guys do this to Metal Gear Rising before it came out then all the sudden once you actually played it it was the best game out I just don't think there's enough information to make any crazy conclusions

Lol Jason yeah, but freaks can be freaks here. Besides, yet another Big Boss game no David Hayter sound like more than enough reason to cause a riot don't you think? :)

Yeah those points alone but his videos have been so cryptic I haven't even made any comments because I don't know what exactly to say and anything I would have said has been touched upon

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I want MGSV to emphasize more on the gameplay, i want more gameplay. A game being 15-20 hours long means nothing if once you skip the cut scenes and codec calls its something you can do without a pee break. I completed mgs 3 a few months ago in about 3 hours, same goes for mgs 2 a few days ago. And i wasnt speed running them, i was very rusty and bought them as a refresher.

The main thing Rising got critique for was that it was too short. But in reality gameplay wise its about equal, it just doesnt force cutscene upon cutscene upon and then codecs on you.

I want the codec to be a new mechanic, while you are still mobile you can take a call. Sneak around and do your business while the codec conversation is going on. But have it effect your ability to concentrate like your radar dims, and you cant hear the enemies around you and your aim gets sloppy so its a trade off beween concentration. So you might want to choose to sit down and listen to the call behind a wall or something. But i see no reason why you cant walk and talk anymore. Kind of like Rising, but a bit more freedom than that even.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well I will say this. I really think the trailer looks awesome. The music gives it a great atmosphere and the setting seems pretty cool. I really dont know why some many people are complaining. There is obviously more story to tell with Big Boss then there is with Solid Snake so why not wrap his story up before anything else. I would much rather have this then a remake of a game I have already played. Not to mention playing a metal gear game set in the 1980s sounds pretty fantastic to me.

It's a story that has long run it's course.

And you wouldn't want to play remakes of the first two MSX games?

Saw the interview on GTTV and Kojima explained why he didn't recast David Hayter
Keighley asked about the decision not to use David Hayter as the voice actor for Snake. Kojima explained that this is a new type of Metal Gear game, and they wanted to have this reflected in the voice actor as well.

...not good enough, it implies he will never return as Snake or BigBoss!

Signed. I think I'm done caring about the franchise, go ahead and **** it up you stupid *** hole.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Actually this new game has revitalised my belief that Kojima could craft a good story. Ive got the feeling this game may be the one to feature BigBoss transformation to villain. And what very little we've seen of game-play looks great and actually an improvement.

I wasnt bothered about a new voice actor since i assumed they wanna differentiate Snake and BigBoss (still hoping) but that doesnt look to be the case which is the biggest blow to me.

Signed, Even though it wont work, but atleast we might get noticed.

Same Thing happened to Splinter Cell Blacklist regardin Michael ironside

that made sence though since his character is like 20 in that game. plus im sure ironside would be back for the next ones

But Metal Gear fans are nuts so i think we'll get alot more signatures!

By "new type of Metal Gear", I guess that Kojima implying that he's rebooting the franchise from scratch. Peace Walker royally f-ed up the continuity of the series, by introducing technology that was too advanced of its time, and it seems like Kojima's trying to make sense of the whole mess. A reboot seems like the most logical solution.

In any case, it's official: this series has turned into Star Wars, with the Big Boss saga being analogous to the atrocities that are Episodes I to III :slap. MGS had a good run while it lasted.

You guys could be right but I can't wait to say I told you so when you guys are wrong

Wrong in what way, exactly? :dunno

TPP will, without a doubt, be a "good" game, just like all of the other MGS releases in the past. It will receive many accolades, and reviewers everywhere will praise Kojima's new game as a crowning cinematic and technological achievement.

However, if you expect this to be a good MGS game, that stays true to the storyline set forth by MGS 1 to 4, then that's just wishful thinking. Peace Walker had already deviated from the continuity with its introduction of technologically advanced AI. Not to mention, introducing Huey - who the game credits for creating the foundational design for Metal Gear REX (when in MGS 1, REX is credited as being an original design by Otacon).

I think a lot of fans toss their minds out of the window whenever a new MGS game gets announced. They praise Kojima like a God, squeal like rabid fan-girls, and can care less about what the hell is actually happening to this series.

In any case, I've said my part. Kojima will do what he wants to do, and complaining about it isn't going to stop him. As for that petition, it's nothing more than a fruitless endeavor - so I'm not going to waste my time to sign it :lol.

If this was the beginning of a reboot why continue with Peace Walkers story at all. If changing the VAs why bring back Chicos and Kazs' VAs? Im very confused, i hope the community keep bugging Kojima abut this, I really want Hayter back but not necessarily for MGS5
