Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

True

Some of those could have been handled differently and better though like he could have totally forgot about Olga's baby and by time 4 came around nobody who have even asked if he did mess stuff up with PW, no need to make the whole sunny thing who i'm sure was supposed to be a boy at first no?

The AI villains i didn't really have a big problem with, it's mainly where 4 messes with previous story arcs in a bad way like tho whole Solidus body and Eva and then Big Boss etc

In MGS2 i thought the Liquid arm thing was lame but then 4 made it even lamer by negating it even being Liquid and it just being Ocelot.

The best option would have been to just completely forget about some stuff, he left a lot of other things unanswered

Liquid was lame to me initially but when it was explained that his dad was the Sorrow it came into focus.

Sunny was a boy originally I believe, or that could of been a mistranslation since Snake says to Raiden "I'll find him."

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Reading the hands on impressions from IGN and Kotaku, their opinions are very different in what they saw. IGN not fond of Keifer as Big Boss, and Kotaku enjoying the performance. I can’t wait to see the demo this month to finally see if he nailed Big Boss or not.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That's one of the few times I agree with IGN. I just can't see Kiefer doing anything but Jack Bauer. It's been so established that Hayter is the voice that a change up now is causing ripples in the gaming world. I don't think Kiefer, no matter how well a performance he can give, will bring anything to the table that can outshine Hayter's "Snake."

Kojima being SO ******* DISMISSIVE to Hayter is shocking to me. He's worked for Konami for almost 15 years and takes a paycut to bring in the original actors for TTS. The Japanese never cared about the American VA's ever. Resident Evil has had so many different VA's for the characters that you can't even grow attached to any of them.

It might not, but I am just glad that they are finally separating both the characters. And I am pretty sure Solid is making an appearance in this game, I just don’t know if he will be voiced by Hayter since he could be really young or not.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's all but confirmed that Eli is Liquid so Snake might be in it for whatever reason. But this is in the middle east, Snake stayed in American as far as we know.

Yea but a while ago, Kojima was saying that he was going to bring back Solid for the next game, which is now the Phantom Pain. And Kojima was asked if Solid will make an appearance in this game, and his answer was something like, he didn’t want to say because if he was in it, it would ruin the awesome moment of seeing him.

As long as Hayter remains Solid, I’m happy.

:exactly:

I think Big Boss should of never been Hayter, but at this point I can't imagine hearing anything else. Oh wellz.

If the next game next to these two, or even if they're two, is not a remake of MG1 and it's another Big Boss game I'm going to scream.

Yea, Kojima originally wanted Big Boss to have a different voice actor back in MGS3 but because of the backlash MGS2 with Raiden he felt compelled to make Big Boss as similar to Solid as possible, which was a huge mistake.

Even without Hayter's voice, Big Boss become a clone of Solid Snake with the Bandana and look.

Yea, the game models aren’t identical but they look really a like which is fine with me. I think all the Snakes look alike, Liquid and Solid are identical, and Solidus and Big Boss are pretty much identical. Solid looks almost exactly alike Big Boss as well which means Liquid does so I guess it all makes sense.

Well originally they were all supposed to be duplicates of Big Boss but MGS4 retconned that.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Even if then MGS series re-introduced Solid Snake, it will most likely not be voiced by David Hayter anymore since he didn't quite part on good terms with Kojima and Kojima just plain doesn't give a *****.

This is a somewhat common occurrence with Japanese company. The company I work with has some dealings with the Japanese and simply put it, they are sharks. They only want money. They don't care about loyalty, and they don't care about what you think. This is somewhat ironic since we tend to view Japanese as being honourable and all.

We were trying to get some license for a popular brand and what they are asking is simply ridiculous. By the time we finish paying them off what they demand and playing by their petty rules, we will be hard press to make a profit and not worth the hoops they make us jump through at the end of the day.

The only thing that matter to them is their bottomline.

That sounds about right, and most Japanese gaming companies seem so out of touch nowadays with where the gaming markets are moving to.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

They are loyal to themselves, not to the rest of the world :rotfl
