Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Personally, I'm OK with Big Boss having a different voice actor for MGSV, so long as the voice actor is Richard Doyle from MGS4 (he did a great job), and Hayter returns as Snake in a future game (If a future game with Snake is made). In fact, I actually wanted this game to feature a different voice after to differentiate BB and Snake as different characters, as having them both with the same voice would have been stupid. If Hayter does not voice SS in a future game, THEN I will be p!ssed off.

Yeah it definitely looks like Kojima is going for a more serious tone this time around, something more realistic, which is good. I think BB needed a new voice actor. As he got older, that was bound to happen IMO, to differentiate the character from Solid Snake. I still think Hayter will return for a future game, IF Solid Snake is featured again. I highly doubt Kojima would cast Solid Snake with a new voice actor. It makes sense for Big Boss, but not for Solid Snake.

Personally, I'm pretty excited for this game. It all sounds really interesting and the ability to tackle missions in many different ways sounds really fun.

I agree with everything you've said. Excellent set of posts.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It would have made sense to change BBs boss starting from Snake Eater

Doing it out is just out of place imo

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah, I agree. MGS 1 is still my favorite game of the series, to this day. The ambiance, the storyline - everything about it was perfect.
I think MGS1 (rising Aside) has the best OST to me. I think all the other metal gears were lacking in memorable music. Theres MGS1, Soul Reaver and the Resident Evil games that id throw out there as best game soundtracks of all time.

The Snake Eater OST was amazing imo

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It had a couple of ok songs to me, its just from start to end MGS1 had awesome music. Every track. even if the music was just a looped sound of a wolf howling or wind blowing

I agree with you add skyrim and oracina of time and final fantasy 7 these ost are the best.

I don't think I agree with all other MGS games lacking in memorable music. I really liked "Calling to the Night" ( from Portable Ops); "Snake Eater" (from MGS 3); "Heavens Divide" (from Peace Walker); the entire soundtrack from MGS 4.

But, yeah, Soul Reaver and RE are amazing, too! Nice Kain avatar, btw!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's a story that has long run it's course.

And you wouldn't want to play remakes of the first two MSX games?

All I was saying was just I would personally like to play the rest of the big boss saga leading up to snake before playing a remake.

I agree it would be amazing to play a remake of the msx metal gear 2 and go through the fight with fox on the minefield and boss with the hairspray and lighter. The music from the opening of the msx metal gear 2 is still some of my favorite metal gear music of all time. I just think it would be kinda cool to play a metal gear set in the 1980s just to see what it could be like.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I am just tired of playing the same character, and same uninteresting story over and over and over.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Guess all we get from now on is big boss.

The **** tards on MGS Facebook pages are drooling all over this.

I just hate the series anymore, there is nothing to look forward to except the same old Big Boss backstory that isn't needed.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

man what bull****, I can't believe he potentially doesn't want Hayter for Snake anymore. Probably means that it is the end of Solid Snake, at least the Solid we know.

He really nailed his own casket. Big Boss ruined MGS :monkey2

Not according to the average idiotic Call of Dooty esk Big Boss fans. They just swallow whatever comes out of Kojima's ***.

I truly despise Kojima what he's done to this great series. I think I'm out worrying about what's been done to the series, he doesn't give a **** so why should I?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I wish they would care less about making it look so good and more about an actual story that was a progression of the main story that THEY thought of

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Never going to happen at this point. It's not about the fans anymore, it's more about catering to the typical action no brain gamers.

All these backstory prequels are not needed. And we don't need FOUR in a ****ing row.

If you want to know the intelligence of the average MGS gamer, read Facebook comments.

Lol. Some of the comments on this forum are good enough evidence. There's particularly one person I have in mind (who shall not be named) :lol

I'm sure if I can think hard enough I can guess :lol

I just feel like the series is just disrespectful to what made the series great in the first place, Solid Snake.
