Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Can you guys stop quoting potato turtle. Its the only way I can see his stupid comments

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Dumb comments? Solid was in Metal Gear 1 and 2, and its just as much part of the franchise as the psp games. Who cares about the graphics.

Guys I would appreciate if you quote everything I say from now on, so Dylan can stay out of this thread.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Who knows, with the mad max game coming out, if it's a hit maybe game makers will start digging in the classics vault and give us an EFNY game.

That would be awesome, but Kurt Russel would have to voice him. Or David Hayter.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I remember getting all hyped out on the Snake Plissken game when I first read it on PSM 10 years ago. I'm a huge fan of Escape from New York and the announcement was a dream come true at the time. I think about a year later I found out it was cancelled.

They really should revisit Snake Plissken's in some form or another provided it's done in a tasteful manner.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Rewatching the gameplay trailers and I noticed that Snake has his own Siri with that radar thingy. I'm sure a talking app would come useful in an infiltration mission. :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

They really need to keep the tech with the times. Batman's detective mode really defeats the purpose of the sneaking stuff.

It's almost like... "let's see what other developers are doing" instead of pioneering like he used to.

No wonder GTAV made him depressed... :lol

:goodpost: :exactly:

Also, at the the time when MGS 4 was released, he was pretty depressed with Assassin's Creed 1 :lol.

The tech in MGS3 I think was just as bad as what we are seeing in this game, for the time that game was set.

Heck no :lol. Kojima expressed concerns about putting NVGs in MGS 3 because they were too advanced for the time. He did it anyway, but at least he tried to keep the tech more realistic, compared to what's happening now. The Shagohod was also nothing more than a heavily armored threaded tank with rocket propulsion - way more primitive than any of the other mechs in the series, and something that was conceivable given the advancements of rocket technology in the 60s.

Yup, it was in an exclusive interview on PSM about 10 years ago. He was not only really concern of out-of-place tech, but he also didn't wnt to contradict MGS1/2 in any way.

Also, in case anybody's wondering, those flying platforms are real.

Am I the only one that remembers the car chase, with the mass produced Star Wars like hovering Vehicles chasing them, or the microfilm?

Soldiers were flying that around in the 1960’s?

It was the motorcycle chase at the end with Eva, those flying things also appeared earlier in the game when you are climbing up the mountain (after the End and before the Fury)
