Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Its like a thing, I call it the Wesker syndrome, kill the best villian right away and leave us with **** like Ocelot WTF

This kind of things make me wanna destroy the world

Wesker has one of the longest reoccurring villain roles in gaming, and his death was the swan song for the death of Resident Evil :lecture

It's funny that around his death is when Capcom started getting REALLY bad.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think I never hated any video game character as much I hate Ocelot

.... actually never hated anything in my life more than Ocelot :lol

Exactly, at least we saw him with nice graphics and stuff, but its the same, he is dead and now there is nothing left for RE

I always thought a great villian makes great games/movies etc they should't be killed just like that

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

just Finished MGS ... it's been a while since last time, damn that was one perfect game :monkey2

I already miss Liquid, the real Liquid

Forgot about a few things about Big Boss, actually this game helped me understand the story of Ground Zeroes a little bit more I think

The one thing that makes me excited for Ground Zeroes (despite all of the issues so far) is the backstory of the Foxhound members. I suspect that Quiet May be Sniper Wolf, and there's also the guy with psychic powers who bears a resemblance to Psycho Mantis. Eli is also most definitely Liquid.

It's also implied that he raped Meryl in MGS 1, but that "little" aspect of the story is just completely forgotten in MGS 4.

If Quiet is Wolf, that would put her in her late 30s or in her 40s by 2005, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's her. And I agree, my only excitement is seeing characters from Snake's story and not Big Boss's :lecture

We already know dumb Huey doesn't die from torture since his ******* drowns in the pool when he finds out he was a cuckold to his son :lol

Really?? .. I think Quiet is a totally different character, I actually think she'll die.

Eli, he is Liquid alright, I hope to see Big Boss looking at him and saying " recessive genes huh? you are so inferior" that would make this game for me :lol

"I'll have my fun with her... before I kill her."

Was that said if you submit? I forget. Maybe the rape happened in her death ending. Been awhile since I played it.

Starting to hate BB tired of the fanboys and the Kojima **** he's a misunderstood hero bull****.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well, regardless if you give in to the torture, Meryl still tells Snake that they did awful things to her, and she felt shame and humiliation. She was gone for a large portion of the game, and was found practically unconscious. Maybe she was tag teamed by Liquid and Ocelot during that time :lol.

Having Big Boss turn into the hero just negates all of the sacrifices from Solid Snake. Kojima has mishandled both characters in the worst possible ways.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

:lol

I really don't see Liquid doing that, but that son of a ***** Ocelot really wanted dat a**

I'm gonna play all the sequels soon, the games I missed, but Big Boss being a misunderstood hero its not such a big surprise for me, Snake felt more like an antihero at least in the first game

Well, you've probably already developed an opinion about both characters, since you've been hanging around this forum for some time :lol. Truthfully, I never got the anti-hero vibe from Snake when I first played MGS 1 many years ago. He defeated a terrorist group, and went through torture to save a girl, and was like the ultimate video game action hero.

I think Liquid could have messed around with Meryl just to get back at Snake.

Liquid: "Ughhh.... Brother..... UGHHHHH......Snaaaake!!!!.......AAARGH.
Ocelot: When will I get my turn?
Liquid: Not now, you fool!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Oh he is a no doubt about it! he will always be the hero but he is not the typical hero thats what I mean

I think I can't really say there is one bad guy in this series, I think they are just people reacting to what life gives them, thats very realistic.

Thats my opinion for now it may change once I play every single game including Ground Zeroes and Phantom pain

In terms of realism, the one thing I don't understand is how Big Boss loses just one person (The Boss), and then spirals down into depression and gives up on his country. And then there's Snake, who gets used for his entire life, and loses his comrades (like Gray Fox) but still remains loyal.

I tend to dislike nuanced approaches to storytelling; in the sense that evil doesn't exist, but everyone is just a victim of their circumstances, and that alone should provide justification for their actions. Prior to MGS 3, Big Boss was practically a megalomaniac, hell bent on seeing the world burn, and Snake was sent to stop him. But, ever since Big Boss became the misunderstood hero, it puts Solid Snake in a rather awkward position in the series. He's no longer a hero, but rather, the inadvertent villain, who prevented the "true heroes" from liberating the world from The Patriots.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well, the way I understand it, Snake is not an exact copy of Big Boss, its like Big Boss is Liquid and Snake combined right?.. its kind of messy

I guess I'll understand it once I play Snake Eater, I don't really know why Big Boss did that, but I guess he suffered more than Snake I dunno :dunno .. Snake lost a friend but his country didn't betray him at least not in the same way.. mh well can't really say if I didn't play the game :lol

Evil does exist, but its not everything black and white, MGS wants to make you care about the bad guys after you defeat them and it even makes you think they are not THAT bad that is much better than blinded evil people like Wesker or Carla, no human can do stuff like that without being insane, and a sick person is no the same as a trully evil person, I respect the villains that have their own vision and do things for a real purpose, the rest are pure crap

I didn't read everything you say I see its full of spoilers for me, I will reply properly once I play all the games.

Yeah, you should definitely play the games and formulate a conclusion for yourself. Maybe your opinion will be different from mine. Wait until you get to MGS 2, and you'll see Solidus, who happens to be my favorite character in the series (which is pretty obvious, I guess) :lol.

All I know is that, at least for now, I don't know anything :lol lol yeah, good thing I played MGS again I totally forgot Ocelot talks to him in the end, can't wait to play MGS2 :yess:

Wait so which Metal Gear games haven’t you played?

MGS2 might be the roughest for you, don’t let it make you hate the series. 3 and 4 are awesome in my opinion. Stay away from the psp games if you’re looking for true Metal Gear experience. You can just watch the cutscenes on Peace Walker on youtube.
