Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The storyline for this series is a mess. It would have been better if everything ended with MGS 3.

Yeah, that would have been so great with it ending at MGS2, with MGS2 being the chronological end of the series. Kinda like how The Matrix should have ended at the first movie.

Instead we got MGS4 which not only confirm that MG2 DID took place, but also glanced over certain other aspects (such as why Ocelot had Liquid's voice, or why does the RAY fight took place at the same place which Snake had his VR missions, and why did no once seemed to care that Arsenal just destroyed a part of New York City.)

The only thing I like about the current state of MGS is that Raiden became his own man in Rising. He was the representation of us fans in the 1st and 2nd act of MGS2 which was why he was suck a dork and coincidentally we only learned about his sadistic back story about the time he was also refusing control by the player. MGS2 had so many things for the player to figure out themselves, MGS4 had a senile old man and Meryl and Johnny in a cringe worthy marriage proposal.

He's a ****** but he makes good games :lol

Nah, I don't think he's a ******, but I do think he's just gone mad with power.

I mean, the newly opened KP offices in LA are more luxurious than some governmental institutions. :slap

I like Sutherland and all, but the way he let Hayter go, the way he speaks of himself in his games, and the way he takes pictures of himself leads me to thing that he's one big #swag#yolo#kony2012#nomakeup#allnatural#duckface#instagram ********* :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

REBOOT METAL GEAR!!!

It's such a mess now and these constant stories with Big Boss (Snake) muddle the mythology even more. Metal Gear has become Final Fantasy'ed and WAAAAY too Japan-ed out. I'm also getting tired of the fantasy soldiers and such. Beauty 'n the Beast Unit? Really? No.

Maybe the fanbase should've let Kojima walk away from the series when he wanted to. I think it's time he does. Phantom Pain LOOKS amazing but I am not at all interested in the story. I don't know/care who Chico is nor who this scarred-up villain might be.

As for storyline, Kojima should turn to the fans. George RR Martin actually uses one of his longtime fans/website owner as a fact-checker for his "Story of Fire & Ice" books. Perhaps Kojima should do the same.

I might be in the minority, but I think the Matrix trilogy is pretty perfect. Only problem with it is some of the acting in Revolutions, but story wise, I find the trilogy to be great.
