Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Welcome to the mainstream. Remember, gaming was still new and a lot of developers first starting off, so innovation was key. Gamers were considered outcasts too, now look. Posers claiming they're gamers left and right!

My thoughts exactly, I've been gaming literally since I was 6.

I think those people are in fact gamers, but most of us fit into the definition of hardcore gamers, don't mean to sound elitist but it's the truth.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Darn, I put my copy of Twin Snakes on ebay and it sold it 13 minutes. I think that's a record for me, lol. I never even played the game, got it and just ended up playing the PS version again on my PS3. I can't wait for this new Legacy Collection, I'm ready for it now! Anyone else thinking of doing a marathon once all the new games are out? Play MGS1 through MGS5?

It's the truth. I still define the bro's and "gurlgamerz" as either casual or poser when all they play is CoD/Battlefied/Gears of War/Halo/etc.

Truth is you're not a gamer unless you've been through the older generations, or modern-wise at least play games not known to the general public. Sure the public knows Mario, but do they know every game he's been in the past decade? Do CoD players? Simply put, no, they don't.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah, I still have my original copies of MGS1, definitely battle-damaged though..the case looks like it was recovered from Shadow Moses.

Same here. Actually, I have two copies of MGS4. One is actually from a "battlefield." I played it when I was deployed in Afghanistan back in '08 after my shift for about a week. Still got sand scrapes on the case and all.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

My original copy of MGS 1 is old, too :lol. But, here's what I did with it last year (check the attachment). I posted it as a small image, because I don't want anyone copying it.

Signed by Kojima and Shinkawa?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Darn, I didn't even think of being like that. I already own all of the MGS games, I don't need a new collection if MGS1 isn't an updated version. Typical cash grab then.

I don't see why it wouldn't be like that, the material was already made so it's basically reissuing the HD collection with MGS1 and MGS4.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

This just seems like a cash-grab from Konami, given that the HD Collection was released just a few years ago. I'll most likely pick it up though, just for the new artwork and whatever cool extras they're including (if there are any).

I don't know, finally listening to fan demands for an improved version of MGS1? I guess I like to assume things will be good instead of bad. I just don't like to go into every situation thinking negatively. Konami has done good remasters in the past, as well as bad. Oh well, it doesn't matter anyway, nothing will replicate the experience of MGS1 on Playstation and we all know it.

Obviously it's not gonna look much different from your run of the mill worn case, but this is it. Some grains of Afghan sand are visibly stuck between the plastic and paper cover on the bottom right near the tear. Nothing special, just kind of cool due to the correlation:
