I'd say that MGS 1 and 2 are the pinnacle of moral and social subtexts in the series. The other games were more like action sequels than anything else. In that regard, I've stopped trying to make sense of MGS 4, because, well... nanomachines are the explanation for everything :lol :slap.

No hate there, man. I'm replaying MGS 2 as we speak, and it's a masterpiece of a game :lol. I've gotten to appreciate MGS 2 a lot more as I've gotten older.

I know you are one of the few MGS2 lovers here :lol its really awesome, I might even say its the best MGS (in a formal way) I probably should take this conversation to our walls before the ****storm starts :rotfl just kidding

I still haven't replayed the VR Mission as yet, because I'm having so much fun with the silly things in the game. Do you hit the shoulder buttons during the codec conversations? :rotfl

Yeah :rotfl every time I play this game there is something new, today I realised that when you hit the left trigger in the menu the screen will flash and you'll hear some thunder

I hated MGS2 when it first came out and I kid you not, I kicked my spanking new PS2 until it shut itself off as soon as I learned I was Raiden. I only continued playing weeks later since I already went trough the trouble of saving my allowance to get a PS2.

The part in Arsenal where they deliberately place the camera behind Snakes head to make you think that you're controlling Snake again was a cocktease of massive proportions as well.

And yes, it took me awhile but I later knew it was something special and I was hoping the sequels would go into that direction as well, but they never did.

Even old games like MGS1,2 and 3 hold up to this days IMHO the development of those games is exquisite

I'm loving MGS4 more and more for the same reason I love MGS2

Its great stuff, some of us can see the beauty of subtext in those games, there is nothing wrong with hating them anyway... I respect othes opinions, but I like those games

Yup, its kind blasphemous to say here, but MGS 1 to 4 are gaming masterpieces in my opinion. I’m sure MGSV will be also :rock

Yup, I'm sure Kojima will add some weird subtext to MGSV :lol I think I'm ready for it, either way I know I'll love it

Cut out those GIFs and we'll talk. :lol

Anyway, you only need 50 1st place missions for the trophy (easy). Don't bother with getting top score for every VR mission since it's impossible unless you're Japanese. The VR missions are a lot of fun, and start getting difficult once you get to MGS1 Snake. There are some amusing easter eggs in the missions as well.

If you're hunting the dog tags, EXTREME mode is well, extreme. The bosses will slaughter you in seconds and I remember being drenched in sweat surviving 30 minutes of the RAY fight. :lol

You can't ask me that :lol the gifs are part of me, they are my nanomachines

I know... I tried a few VR missions with MGS1 Snake after playing for 2 hours, it was a nightmare, after playing on Extreme I got used to the difficulty in the campaign, its not very hard once you get the hang of it. I'll play it again on European Extreme.

Oh I love the MG RAY fight, its the most demanding boss fight ever you have to be perfect for 20/30 minutes... its its.. too much, I don't think I ever suffered so much in a boss fight ever and thats why I love it, I think it may be my favourite boss fight in that game. MGS and Final Fantasy have the hardest boss fights

Well, Kojima learned his lesson, there are some memes that you can't pass on ...

MGS games always depend on whats happening outside of the game, I guess they can never be the same, they are all unique

I like MGS3.. a lot, but it's intentionally dumbed down story, campy nature of the cutscenes and Super Sentai villains wears thin overtime. Sometimes it felt like a response to MGS2 rather than it's own thing. Still a 10/10 game though.

I think any MGS fan should get a 100% VR completion for regular Raiden, at the very least. It's a perfect warm up and not that hard. That includes you too, Solidus.

Get out of my mind, RYAN!

I almost stopped playing it for the same reasons as well. I grew to love MGS 2 so much with time, though.

Absolutely. I hated that, too.

And yes, it took me awhile but I later knew it was something special and I was hoping the sequels would go into that direction as well, the never did.

MGS 4, PW, and even GZ fell flat in that regard.

I'd say the best thing about Peace Walker is that the multiplayer is so user friendly and the matches are simple in a good way. It never became too intimidating like most of modern games and it's a good way to kill time without getting so worked up. Unfortunately, I've never gotten the chance to play MGS3's or MGS4's MGO. Anybody had experience with those?

And that kind of makes sense... considering Kojima realised most people just want macho, shallow and testosterone fueled games :slap he made that deliberately on purpose of course, but we all know that

MGS3 MGO was all kinds if awesome. I miss those days.

MGS4 MGO was okay at best to me. The gameplay just didn't translate that well to Multiplayer.

Which is why I loved it. Each MGS feels so different, and you can usually tell what Kojima's inspiration is drawing from. MGS4 felt like his big, epic, summer blockbuster send off to a gaming legend.

Whether you like the story or not, you can't deny it has some of the greatest set pieces in gaming history. Kojima directed the hell out of that game, it was also pure nostalgic fan service. The part where Snake dreams about when he first hit Shadow Moses was amazing, that was just one of many awesome things that happened in that game.

I tried playing MGS 4's MGO a few times and got sniped by people I couldn't even see. MGO was very much broken, and the community was filled with people who'd exploit glitches to gain a tactical advantage in the servers. I know that Konami started banning users. But, because so many people glitching, it was like putting a band-aid on a gushing wound.

In comparison, the experience with Peace Walker's online has been a much more pleasant one.

The Shadow Moses part was very sad for me... the empty places, the broken surveillance camera. Kojima didn't turn that place into an awesome battleground, he wanted to make it clear that Shadow Moses was long past its prime. Same here, just one of the many awesome things I love about it

BTW When Snake said

"Raiden... five years ago, thats not what I meant"

I think that moment is when I realised I love MGS4

It's crazy how Kaz goes through hell and his sunglasses are kept in pristine condition. I know Big boss gives it back to him according to the TPP trailer, but still, that's hilarious :lol.

That part was beautiful!!

Funny thing is, I always thought MGS4 was the most hated in the series, but I've been a numerous gaming websites as of late, and all their polls have MGS4 voted close to, or voted second best in the series. MGS2 is always voted last. My only knock towards MGS2 is the uninspired boss battles, and the map. This is one of the few series' where you can't go wrong picking which is your favorite.

When is the trailer supposed to hit?

Congrats on your new PS4 Gasp!!! :clap are you already playing any game ?

Thanks :hi5: people congratulating me like if I had a baby :lol I guess in a way I did.

No, just demos for now, the PS4 came with Killzone for free but they didn't have any copies , so they'll call me when they get another one so I can pick it up.

If I'm too impatient maybe I'll go get Wolfenstein tomorrow.

Should be June 9th but Kojima posted on twitter a few days ago that there's something planned for June 10th as well.

Really? and I always thought MGS4 was the most loved of them all :lol even my aunt heard about MGS4 and she doesn't know what a PS3 is, if you look at the numbers... it seems MGS4 COULD be the most loved MGS game, a lot of newcomers started the series with that game

When is the trailer supposed to hit?

How does it feel so far? is the new controller good?

Hey, she is your baby, you have to give her a name and love her everyday! :lol
