I think MGS3 is the only one in the series that appeals to everyone. The hardcore and core fans loved that game.

I hope there isn't any gay stuff in this game, not with Big Boss at least :slap but... that wishful thinking

I do want Sexy time with Quiet :lol

It feels great, the controller is amazing, easily the best controller out there, and it has a plug for headphones, yay! :lol

Oh man, what should I call her?

I dunno ... so many names

How about Cassidy? or maybe you want a more familiar/local name.. how about Sofia?

Sofia Gaspar.... I like it.

:lol

Wait... she's my baby, not a sexbox, Sofia is not a game of thrones character :nono:

Sony of House Hirai :lecture

So Sofia wins? I was gonna suggest some white trash names :lol

Anyway, I just went through that article, whats if it happens?

New Red Dead vs The Phantom Pain

:panic:

The one thing about E3, is that there are so many possible announcements :lol. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Arkham Knight as well.

What the hell is a "limitless gameplay?" I'm intrigued!

Forgive for the yet-another-out-of-nowhere Batman comment, but I have this feeling that Kojima isn't aware of Arkham Knight. His love for Batman went only as so far as the Nolan films, which is fine since I learned recently that Batman isn't that all popular in Japan and most Japanese "don't get it". It would be interesting if, Rocksteady totally dominates sales and GOTY awards since both games are due next year.

Of course I'm comparing because both games are offering highly detailed, open world gameplay.

They don't "get" Batman? :lol Most of the world doesn't even get Japan. That's so ridiculous.

Arkham Knight stands a great chance against MGS V, simply because everyone already knows about Batman, whereas MGS is only popular amongst a sub-section of gamers.

Yeah, according to the 75th Anniversary Batman panel recently, DC was surprised that the first Burton film didn't do well in Japan at all, and mainly due to the Japanese "not getting it". It begs the question of what they don't get in a culture with pop entertainment that often equally intrigues and horrifies me at the same time. :lol

It's debatable that Kojima's exposure to Batman was only that of the Nolan films, as evident by his enthusiastic tweet on TDKR:

Saw "Dark Knight Rises". Extraordinary big in scale! This ain't movie anymore, this is the reality of the world we live in. Not a fiction in Gotham City, it is the city we live tomorrow. Not merely a movie based on American Comics, it is the story of our shadow and hope.

It was so disappointing when DC teased us with "A new DC game will be announced" just to announce that Lego game :gah:

Lego's cool and all, but I was expecting a RS Superman game announcement.... :gah: :gah: :gah:

I'm actually surprised, that a man with such impeccable taste in film, holds TDKR on a high pedestal.

Hmmm...after seeing one of those extented MGS V TPP trailers in tube and it looks really good. The only thing is that should I buy PS4 just for that game, since there aren't really that many interesting games out there just yet that haven't been released to older consoles as well. Actually xbox1 isn't even officially released yet in scandinavia, so xbox360 is the current con. here. Also I kind of wanted to wait, so that sony gets change to tweak these current "v.1.0" new playstations. I mean we have seen lots of different version what comes to older consoles etc. Meaning xbox for noobs, regular, elite etc. I usually am not the first person to buy a new technology. Not to mention how expancive these new consoles are. I would like to buy PS3 to actually play MGS4 and some other ps exclusive games like uncharted series.

Also, even though PS4 and xbox1 versions of MGS GZ look different in comparison (as far as I know, TPP and GZ will use same engine), ps3 and xbox versions don't look that much different. Well maybe those were bad comparison videos I saw, I dunno. New gen. versions do have more textures and specially if you hold still and watch the enviroment, you can see the difference more clearly. Like some sign posts look more clear and for example a wooden fence might have more details. They look very nice all right, but it wasn't like holy-****-that-looks-so-much-better kind of difference. Though I wouldn't call the difference as obvious like for example vhs vs dvd.

Then again, there is a change that the actual game won't look as good IRL as it did in that trailer no matter what console you have.

That part was beautiful!!

Funny thing is, I always thought MGS4 was the most hated in the series, but I've been a numerous gaming websites as of late, and all their polls have MGS4 voted close to, or voted second best in the series. MGS2 is always voted last. My only knock towards MGS2 is the uninspired boss battles, and the map. This is one of the few series' where you can't go wrong picking which is your favorite.

That's what I always see too. It's usually MGS3 first and then MGS4. A lot of polls with folks bashing 4, have it at the highest ranking! They're all so different that you can't go wrong. I know a lot of people that thought MGS4 was the best, because it didn't have artificial difficulty from wrestling with the controls. I completely disagree, but can understand. Raiden brought a lot of hate for MGS2, but I like the change, and seeing the Legendary Snake from another perspective. Although MGS3 is my favorite, MGS2 was the only game that I loved every moment throughout. It's just there were so many heartbreaking scenes in 3, and I'm a sucker for that!

As good as I thought the Last of Us was, I just went through it for a second time, and being that I've experienced many similar stories, it wasn't that appealing to me, and MGS4 has WAY more going for it gameplay wise. I don't think I could do a third playthrough, whereas with MGS4, I've done 14, and will continue to do more. It's not fair to compare a new game, to an experience of a game I played so many times. It's just after so many boring tailing missions from modern games like Assassin's Creed and Infamous, Act 3 turns me off. I used to love it, but a lot of recent games really hurt my enjoyment. Same with so many on rail segments, hurt the motorcycle part for me.

Honestly I have a ps3, and Ps4 right now, and the ps3 is much better right now. You get tons of free games every month, and theres way more apps on it. Since PS4 is in its baby years there isn’t many games, demos, or apps to mess around with.

Ground Zeroes runs incredible though on PS4, and if you want the “real” experience when you place TPP, then I would get a PS4.

Either way you wouldn’t really be losing out, but next year theres a ton of new awesome games releasing. If I were you, I would wait until E3 (which is next week) is finished, and see if a PS4 is really worth it, or if the PS3 is the better investment.

He's not taking aim with the eyepatch anymore. Getting weak.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Kojima is now getting ridiculous with making this game realistic :lol

Agreed with everything you said. Like you, I love MGS2, and Kojima had balls to do what he did with that game, but I just felt the boss battles were a bit generic. Other than that, I still think the game is a 10/10 masterpiece.

MGS4 is just so much fun to play, the story has some issues, but I give Kojima some credit trying to tie everything together. Besides, I think Kojima was emulating a big summer blockbuster movie tone for the game, the dumb one liners, and some crazy cameos really just fit for me.

I thought act 3 was the weakest, but to me it had its awesome moments, like being able to use the young Snake Camo, the motorcycle chase, and a pretty epic/emotional ending.

Last of Us I enjoyed, but once again I have to agree with you. One time is enough with that game, and I always felt it was a tad bit overrated. The level you play with Ellie and take out a whole town of bad guys really took me out the game.

Not me! I know you aren't a fan, but I think it's a great movie!

The movie is great, for some reason its really not liked on SSF, but everywhere else its pretty much loved.
