He spent around 45 minutes showing that by simply giving Huey the ability to walk, he drastically altered Otacon’s future where he is no longer weak and becomes an extremely confident man who hates walking in his father’s shadow. In turn, this will make Otacon one of the biggest villains in Metal Gear Solid when he joins FOXHOUND. Liquid also lives.

By the end of the flowchart, Kojima had effectively written out any chance of Metal Gear Rising being part of the canon and had created an entirely different Metal Gear Solid 4 where Solid Snake is dead and Big Boss is the protagonist. Kojima reiterated that this is only a hypothetical but to expect changes as big as this if he were to remake the series.

So.... errr, I'm at a loss for words.

As much as I want Liquid to live beyond MGS1 I don't want the current games to be thrown to the garbage, and I want Snake and Otacon to be best buds forever, so NO

just remembered, I did read this article a while back on MGSFORUMS, it’s a fake interview.

Anyone else think we may get a dog as a companion in this?

In a Yongyea video, he was pointing out some evidence that makes it look likely, it would be pretty cool, but a lot of the hardcore fans might say Kojima is ripping off Rockstar and has no more creativity left.

Too much stupidity on the Internet to shake a stick at. I remember using a "companion dog" since Shadow Dancer for the Genesis .

If he re-writes the whole of MGS, he'll officially be the most in-coherent writer in videogames history, sorry but it doesn't matter how good you can write if you can't string stories together.

He has such a boner for Big Boss it's insane. You already made the story and to be honest the older games have much richer writing and are far better games than the newer ones so he'll only shoot himself in the foot.

I think after TPP I'm officially done with MGS. It's headed to be even worse than Star Wars and nobody complains about the 'hardcore' fans being upset about what they did/are doing with that....

It's an excuse some MGS use nowadays to brush Kojima's shortcomings under the carpet.

A truly great writer would have tried to at least keep it some what canon, even if there were a few changes that could not be helped.

Kojibro just cannot be arsed to go deeper than the surface 'brilliant' idea's everyone sucks him off for and for that he's actually over all quite a bad writer these days.

Time to pack it in and stop calling it metal gear solid. It's a joke and only makes himself look silly if people are honest and look at the facts, never mind overlooking details because one is ok with them.

That is of course if that was ever to transpire, but just the fact that that is how he views the series Is a terrible shame and seals the opinions I already have of him in stone.

Well, it was a joke article, but, there's still a lot of truth in that satire. It's not that I mind that Kojima is experimenting with his creativity, since he seems to have a lot of ideas. But, I just wish if he portrayed the rape, darkness, and taboo material, with another series and not MGS. I have to say, that Ground Zeroes was far out there, and unidentifiable with the series; even more so than the Metal Gear Acid games.

The canon is in such a glorious mess, that I don't even want to think about it anymore.

Don't panic, mate. When you actually think about it, Kojima would never spill the beans like that to anyone.
Regardless, there are some truths to the article including there will be definitely be changes should they remake MG & MG2 (Kojima actually stated in other interviews). And the fact that he mentioned not being able to fully show his creativity plus how much he has been pushing BB to be the main protagonist while Solid became the villain add believability to the article.

Snake being the inadvertent villain in MGS 4, was the biggest kick in the balls to the character. I know that a lot of people believe (or want to believe) that Snake walked away as a hero at the end of that game. But, I just don't see it that way.

It makes me intrigued about the direction of TPP. I wonder if Kojima is trying to redeem Solid Snake by turning Big Boss evil, or if whether it's just a consequence of creating a game with themes from Breaking Bad .

I've been pretty disappointed with everything since MGS 4 . But, I still want to see this series redeemed in some ways. The one thing that I'm hopeful about, is that TPP will set the stage for the remakes of MG 1 and 2. It makes sense that those have to follow...

I remember the pre-Internet days when you had to record TV trailers on a VHS tape . I wouldn't like to go back to those times at all. But, I do believe that the Internet could be "beaten", if developers kept a closed lid on their secrets. As for Kojima, he should not hint anything at all, and instead, go back to cryptic trailer usage like he did for MGS 2 and MGS 3.
