Why do people think MGS games can't be made without Kojima? The series needs fresh blood and new ideas.

Because it's different to every other stealth based game

Without Kojima it wouldn't be MGS as we know it, it would just be another Splinter Cell type game

It has a distinct Japanese feel to it, even though it's a Japanese man feeding off his western influence it's undeniably produced my the Japanese

Yeah Kojima should go, unless MGSV is that good and blows us all away in a good way. If the series does end, so be it. I do think Frank is right about the series becoming no different from Splinter Cell.
I was so scared and pessimistic about Rising coming out, and look how well that turned out. I really just think it depends on the creative talent behind it. Now Platinum has shown they got the chops to make the Ninja style MGS game we've always wanted... who could take the lead on a Stealth side of the series? A dream team would be Naughty Dog, since they've already created one of the most compelling stories ever done in gaming... but that's pretty far-fetched.
Naughty Dog would get so much ****ing flak and hate from the dudebros, I don't want to see that. The other thing is they've never done quite a game like MGS, in terms of stealth...but I could see it work, honestly.

I'm sure MetalGear can be made without Kojima. It's just that Konami hasn't proven its got the talent. Technical skills they are at the top, but creatively they don't have it.

Plus lets not forget Shinkawa most likely will leave with Kojima!

They weren't really using Shinkawa's artwork anymore at this point, so it's likely his input would have gone down even if Kojima stayed.

My girl tried to PO the CE for me, and they're sold out. ****.

Went to my local gamestop and they had the CE available for preorder, the only downside is that you had to pay in full so i just went ahead and preorder the regular with the $5.00 deposit. I dont care too much about the arm just the extra stuff that comes with the day one edition.

They wanted full? That's such a scam. I'll wait for them to get it available again and see what they want for it.

Nah, Shinkawa is a top creative part of the team. Probably more than ever. His art not being on the box is no where near indicative of his input. It's more about what they believe what the mass audience see when the get AAA titles.

On the CE, guys what is there to worry about they will make more available closer to release. They always do this - standard procedure

Why do people think MGS games can't be made without Hayter? The series needs fresh blood and new ideas.
Cause you got your fanboys who just can't accept it.

:exactly: those were the days.

In all seriousness, TPP is a bunch of new ideas, Kojima is still one of the very very few doing things a little bit different, in fact, every single MGS game has been different from the previous one, and considering how Konami has done things not so recently, I can't see MGS being better without Kojima, or any different from the rest of the industry...
