@pturtle I think a lot of developers could do an excellent job with the series. So many love Rising, so I, too, hope they continue making more. I only played Rising because I got it as a free rental, and I listened to podcasts while I played it. I'm not the biggest fan of slicing people up or robot games unless their stories are compelling, so I'm not interested. No skin off my back though!

MG/MG2 lends itself to a more grounded game, so maybe Kojima wouldn't want to be so constrained as a game designer. It's tough balancing gameplay and story, because one has to be sacrificed in some way. I retcon a lot of gameplay elements when I play games, since they don't really make sense. Unless they're like Syphon filter, where you shoot the boss in the face once and that's it! While I really enjoyed Peace Walker for what it was, I'm only including the elements that impact MGSV.

I really wish we'd just get another awesome stealth series, but I wish the best for the new team!

I must say a dumb move from Konami is to stop Hideo from marketing. He was brilliant at teasing and even showing other products like collectables. Alll that stuff is gonna go now, what ashame.

Is Shinkawa still gonna help design future collectables, will the collectables even continue? We need our HotToys/Figmas/statues to go on!

He's not allowed to promote anything pertaining to Metal Gear now? That's a stupid move from Konami.

As much as I dislike Koji's choices with the series, nobody in the gaming industry gets people talking like with the cryptic crap he does. Konami has been inching toward Crapcom 2.0 for years now anyway.

I fear Silent Hills is doomed.

Yea, it's looking like Silent Hills is going to get scrapped, or they're just going to hire new talent to work on it, but Del Toro and Kojima will probably have nothing to do with it. I'm grateful they got to at least release the demo "tease".

Silent Hills maybe still continue under new team but doubt del toro and Kojima in there. Norman Redus maybe still in there. But to be honest I am so pumped with new Silent Hills because two big names kojima and del toro

I really have no interest of Kojima has nothing to do with it. Del Toro is great for story and character design, but Kojima is the gameplay guy. If they continue this game without him it's not gonna be anywhere near as good as it could have.

They revived a franchise in the best way imaginable only for it to get scrapped before it touched the ground

To me, PT is the only game I've seen thus far from the next gen... that actually looked like next gen. Everything else looks like high end PS3/360.

Couldn't he just do contractual work? I know I mentioned this before, but it's essentially how Silent Hill has survived the way it has and with Kojima having close connections to Konami, it seems like the most plausible route to take.

We don't know how bad the Kojima Jonami break up is. On the outside it looks bad, if it wasn't there would have been a more formal announcement maybe after MGSv was done.

These days, the games that excite me can be counted with one hand, so basically Konami is about to chop one of my fingers. :lol

This made me giggle haha

All this made me see the DeJa Vu mission differently. "You can erase the names but the memories will always be with us"
I'm curious how long ago Kojima knew about this..
