Yeah, me too. But, maybe... somehow we'll see them in MGS V? If this game truly comes full circle with MGS, it should end with Solid Snake beginning his mission for Operation Intrude N312 :lol.

Ugh.. it's like a punch in the groin to think we'll never see those MG remakes.

That would be the perfect ending indeed.

Oh man, I'm gonna be disappointed if it isn't :lol

:lol yup

With Kojima gone, it probably won't happen...and if it does, it won't be as decent as it could have been.

I think the first is from Sentinel

Take solace in the fact we were never gonna get those remakes to begin with.

Some more... insight as to why Konami gave Kojima the boot. Apparently, he spent more money than he should've for MGS V, delayed the release multiple times, and from a business sense, that didn't sit well with the Konami execs.

Metal Gear Solid 1-3's composer might know why Kojima and Konami have split up

Also, Konami couldn't afford Rika Muranaka (a composer who worked on MGS 1 to 3), so they had to go with Ludwig "Banana Boy" Forsell, and his fart-sounding motif for Ground Zeroes. Ryan and I were saying last year that they pulled him off the streets, like some random dude, and gave him a lead-composer role. And it looks like they actually did it :lol

She's worked directly with Kojima for the music before so she does have some insight, and personally believes that the music has suffered in MGSV because she's not a part of it, because they couldn't afford her. So instead of paying her to go to all these people and recruit them for the music, they chose to remove her from the equation and go to the people directly.

Ludwig Forsell should be awarded the WORST videogame composer in history with the most uninspired compositions I've ever heard in a game. Way to sour the Metal Gear brand which up til GZ, had zero cases of bland, generic music. Even Snake's Revenge had a better soundtrack.

Now this news pretty much explains why all of Konami's in-house composers (and the Konami Kukeiha Club) disappeared overnight. A real darn shame.

Well I wouldn't go that far, there's plenty generic and bland music in MGS2 which imo is one of the worst in the franchsie, and MGS4 is very derivative.

MGS3 is relatively safe because it plays like a period piece in that regard, and its compositions are more dynamic and inspired imo.

Plus GZ has some pretty great songs too.

I am worried for the game now, that recent info indicates Konami has been getting cheap on us, I wonder if it'll be a decisive factor in the experience.

Good... god.

All of that is true though.

I'm not gonna pretend MGS2 is some misunderstood underrated jewel, sure it enjoys that reputation around these parts, but I don't share it.

As for what to expect from the experience: the gameplay trailers didn't do a very good job of showcasing what else there is in the desert, aside from just isolated bases. Big Boss' interaction with the horse seems very limited, too.

By the time I play TPP, I'll be comparing it heavily to The Witcher 3 :lol.

Well, it's a horse, it's just another ride :lol

As for the open world, well it's a desert, but after looking at AK and its rich city, MGSV kinda pales in comparison.

There's one thing that's for sure, I still have no idea how MGSV story is going to play out while AK everybody had everything figured out to a tee months before it came out, so MGSV has the story edge so far, which is the important part imo, technical stuff is worthless if there isn't a good story.
