Well, I just installed TPP, but I'll be playing it later tonight (it's way too bright right now). I wonder if this game suffered from studio interference by Konami. It's unlike Kojima to make a game, without a decent narrative, and from what you guys have been saying, it's very shocking. I mean, I wasn't expecting MGS V to have a great story in relation to canon, but this sounds even worse than what I imagined...

Finished? As in the story was not finished?

I mean every other aspect of the game besides gameplay, motherbase is just as dead as Afghanistan and Africa, there's far less cassettes in this game than there were in Peace Walker (a portable game), and there's barely any story, barely any dialogue, barely any cutscenes, the game even makes you repeat certain missions to progress the story. Everything really feels so incomplete.

I just feel like crying on how massively disappointed I am, being a long time fan and all, especially since Pturtle said the pacing gets worse because it's already UNBEARABLE right now. I know the gameplay is great and all, but I for one, don't dig it as much. I wasn't smiling, I wasn't hi-fiving my imaginary friend (who serves me soda btw), I was just trying to beat one boring mission after another to get a tiny morsel of plot development.

Like I said, the intro was brilliant and I actually shed a tear on how good it was. It just makes the pain even worse.

Just finished the prologue... I must say...

I never think I've been that bored with a MGS game in my life. I couldn't be anymore disinterested in what was going on. This is not a good start.

On the bright side, there's still Witcher 3 to fall back on. There's tons to do in the Sandbox, and even the side-missions have well thought out stories. There are stories upon stories in that game, and everything you do has a purpose.

Man, that sounds even more tempting now. :lol

I wonder how my good buddy Ray feels about this :lol.

He messaged me about the game when I was playing the prologue. I told him it was fantastic.

It's hands down, my GOTY if that means anything :lol. Except for some Easter Eggs, you don't even need to play the previous two games, it's very welcoming to newcomers. And surprisingly, even with that, it still builds on the narrative of the series.

F-it. I'm getting it digitally next month. :lol

On mission 42 now and the game somehow manages to get even worse. It's almost insulting.

I think once most people beat this game it's really going to get ripped to shreds by the gaming community.

I wish I was.

This game makes you repeat older missions but makes you play them on the hardest difficulty with no handicaps just so you can progress to the next main mission, and the worst part, they replay the cutscene which is like a smack in the face. For example, early on in the game I ran into Quiet and we had a sniper battle, I took her back to mother base, that happens very early in the game. Like 20 main missions later, the game now put under the main mission tab that I have to fight her again but on the hardest setting. On the hardest setting she's extremely tough to beat, once I beat her the same cutscene plays, and now I have the option to continue doing the next main story mission. The game just dropped down to a 6/10 for me.

Then once you beat that underwhelming mission that's almost sure to have no story, they throw in like 5 crappy side missions you have to complete to unlock the next main mission, it's mind boggling how bad this game turned out.

I'm glad I'm nowhere near finished witcher then. This sounds so bland compared to the richness of that open world.

I really hope we get a leak soon on what really went down at Konami, it's gotta have affected the final product.
