Well he didn't have such a pointy big nose... and why the **** is he fully grey at 40? He should still be blonde... does he need to look exactly how we know him in the later games so we can identify with him? MGS3's look was drastically different, which is why it was a brilliant choice.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

I'm guessing the stress of being a quadruple agent caused him to gray at an earlier age :lol

FYI Patric Zimmerman doesn't sound anything like Ocelot in real life. As a mater of fact, he sounds exactly how Ocelot should have sounded in MGSV. I wonder if Kirs Zimmerman gave him the boot, since they're divorced now.

Zimmerman is a VERY elusive man, I only heard his real voice once in a MGS podcast from 2008. Oh, and he looks like Ocelot. :lol

being a very novice fan of the series, (I have played every game) I am seriously wondering if I want to dedicate the time and money to this game. Such conflicting reviews. Maybe I'll wait and if I decide to get it, buy it cheap down the road.

Much like the last game, the gameplay is great... but everything else... just Kojima trying to be Nolan again... but worse. I personally feel the twist in the game is the biggest betrayal to the series there's ever been.

Id easily suggest this game to anybody. It's a great game. But as a fan who is expecting certain things from the story to appease my inner fanboy its a big let down.

Theres alot wrong with the game. Alot right with it. Its a mixed bag.

For me the biggest gripe game-story wise is the mission select. Repeat missions, random missions unlocking out of order. Having to meet certain requirements to progress. Things that do not belong in a story mode.

The "story" and game itself seem like they were made by two different companies that had no interaction at all, and just mishmashed their worked together to make this poop.

And people want Kojima back, all of them are crying into their Waifus on Facebook.

Quite a few of buzzwords being thrown around.

MGS2 boss battles (save for a couple) aren't anything to brag about (MGS3 and 4 are far better at that), or in general for that matter, having said that, Quiet's "boss battle" was very weak, although I hesitate to call it that.

Here it was said how ****** the launch trailer was... That wasn't the case, then it was said what a ****** pacing and how ****** the tapes were, that wasn't the case, then how utterly terrible the soundtrack is, ditto, it seems this thread is becoming reactionary/contrarian to the facebook hive mind, everything is the worst evah because of buzzwords, I expected this to happen regardless of how the game turned out, so I will doubt the criticism until I see it for myself, but I honestly don't see the story being any worse than MGS2, but at this rate I will finish it in like a month since I can only play like 2 hours a day.

About the tech, there aren't really any anachronisms.

You just started the game man, it's way too early for you to form opinions like that. Wait until you finish the game before you start arguing :lol :slap.

Also, check the definition of "buzzword"...

I didn't immediately hate on it when I first started it, since there was no story at all yet :lol

I don't see how MGS2 gets hated on so bad, and this gets a pass.

I didn't hate Quiet like I thought I would, and she was the only character worth a damn in the entire game.

I'm giving this game the benefit of a doubt. But, I just wish if there were more sequences with blood and gore. There are some parts that play out like a horror story, but there's so much freakin' grinding in-between. One thing's for sure, even if the ending is crud, this game was meant for those who were truly dedicated to seeing it to the end.

That's another thing. Where did Kojima get the balls that this game was going to be too dark for people to play? There's maybe one scene that's darker than most MGS games... but it's literally nothing compared to other games out there.

The fact that the game was unfinished speaks volumes. I mean, you can't even see the conclusion without seeing it on the Blu Ray that came on the LE.

Where is that "This game is so dark, it might not get released"? There's literally NOTHING taboo in this game.

Interesting stuff reading all the reviews & comments so far guys.

Needless to say - I'm a MGS NOOB. :wave :lol

I've recently acquired a nice PS2 bundle from a friend, & I now own MGS2 & 3, but getting the original MGS for PS1 is a serious priority (obviously).

It's funny - via this thread, I'm now backwards familiarizing myself with this world. :lol

Wait... what, the conclusion was left out of the game, but placed on behind the scenes Blu Ray??? :lol

That was a missing chapter concluding the story of a certain someone. Someone who has no reason to be in this game in the first place. :lol

Enjoy the series by order of release and don't be bothered by all these opinions, including myself. It's an enjoyable ride most of the time. :lol

No kidding... shouldn't have been in it at all... even though they were in it, they should of have had the "other" in it too... at least as a cameo.

'The next project will challenge a certain type of taboo, if I mess up, I'll probably have to leave the industry.

'However, I don't want to pass by avoiding that. I turn 47 this year. It's been 24 years since I started making games. Today, I got an ally who would happily support me in that risk."
