Metal Gear Solid 5 Opening Day Twice as Good as Avengers: Age of Ultron - IGN

Don’t know why they’re comparing this to movies but either way, shows that the whole forbes article was stupid as ****. Throw in Ground Zeroes sales, and all the merchandise from the series and Konami can make a Metal Gear theme park if they wanted to :lol

Hopefully Konami wakes up and realizes what they have with this series and bring Kojima back for Silent Hills.

Is that really so impressive when it cost six times as much per person to enjoy it?

You can counter that with MGSV costing $80 million+ to make vs $250 million+ for Age of Ultron

Well thats why I said it made no sense why they’re comparing it to movies, but it is impressive that it made back more than double its budget in 1 day, especially with the rumor being that Kojima got fired because of the budget of this game.

And this :lol

Now with the MCU getting FF4... all the fanboys are collectively stroking themselves.

**** Disney, seriously. I hope FOX keeps X-Men forever regardless of making everyone wearing black, they're still better films.
It would be a giant cluster ****...and the debates would be incessant. The merchandise opening up would be great though.
They need to go back to $40.
They do. At least some games did recently, but it's almost due to huge cutbacks.

Ok so I have never touched a MGS game in my life. Closest I got was ground zeroes from Xbox for free but haven't installed it. My buddy says I should pick the game up because I'd probably enjoy it. Now my question is: Being that I know next to nothing about the series, would I be well in over my head if I picked it up?

The story sucks so what you don't understand won't matter anyway. It's got great gameplay so I have no doubts your friend is probably right but most of us long time die hard MGS fans still dont understand a lot of the story because it frankly doesn't make sense so don't worry about it.

Very much so.

As someone who is not familiar with MSG story, I played 4, dont recall it. Watched someone play the older ones back in the day, but was tripping the whole time.

I got pretty much lost from escaping the hospital, when the fire guy shows up, then a whale eats a chopper and you get chased by a flaming unicorn.

Just finished TPP.
Is it just me or does it seem like there was barely any storyline at all in this game?
You stop Cypher or Skull face from doing some things, you find some kids, some people got the flu. Game Over

I got £33 trading this in, I bought Zombie army trilogy and Metro 2033 on PS4. Tell you what, it was bloody worth it. Zombie is the same storywise as MGSV (nigh on zilch) but its much more enjoyable. Similar graphics too ;)
