Crap, yeah, I finally found the item page and saw the pic. That sucks... can't do the kneeling power pose...

If it has state of ze art articulation, instant buy. If not, no Iron Man for me. And sadly it looks like it won't, currently.

Yikes, this guy isn't going to have ab articulation like the recent die casts?

There's no confirmation on that but it's just what most freaks here have speculated and think (at this current time at least). I hope the final product does though

I must've missed the discussion on it. I was just looking back a few pages the first time today and saw the issue. Sucks that it may not have it, but I already have BD42 in that pose so I could work up an "all-guns-blazing" pose for this one.

Pshh. Who looks at pictures before ordering. All we need to know is that it's iron man and hot toys

I personally don't care about the ab articulation. I'm getting it because it looks awesome and it's the most iconic suit.

Same here, I love the look of this figure & can't wait to own it..., don't give a toss about ab articulation or crunching, I'm easily pleased I guess. :) I think some people want to achieve certain poses & need more movement in the midsection in order to achieve that, thankfully I'm happy enough with simple poses so it's not an issue.

Yep, I can live without the ab articulation but I wouldn't want it to become a trend for HT to skip incorporating it. I appreciate the engineering and for some figures it might be more essential to me than on this one. Mark III is fine with a hero's pose, though, stood in front on Monger and possibly Iron Whiplash (yes, yes, not screen accurate, I know...).

I think part of what went into the no ab is the fact the original didn't have it. And when they are trying to make the most out of the tooling and molds and the construction version of the mk3 has no lower half it makes sense. But since they didn't want to completly leave it as is they engineered the removable plates as a bonus. People look at it like they are skimping because they "just" did the plates, but if you look at it that it was never going to have the ab crunch, because of the tooling and whatever else (maybe marvel made a stipulation that it had to be close to the original design but not close to the new stuff..do you really think it's a coincidence that there's another construction version of the mk3 coming as well...I dont) or maybe they started with the permission to do the construction version and talked marvel into it but since they already used the mk3 license there where budget constraints and they couldn't completly redesign the torso and reused the construction molds for part they where with out an crunch..or a thousand other reasons. But they could have done it and not including the plate removal at all and still no ab crunch.

Donald Gennaro: Are they heavy?

Tim: Yeah. Donald

Gennaro: Then they're expensive

As simplistic as this may sound it's true to most of the people that check out my collection.

Most friend think the plastic figure are "neat" but then I have them the Mark 42 and the normal response it "Holy ****"

:exactly: Totally agree with LipSmack, when you look at these guys next to each other you can't see a difference in overall detail either way and yes that scene is awesome! :rock

I like the added weight of the diecast and it just seems to balance the figures better. The only figures I can pose properly on a shelf without a stand and without worrying that they will fall, are the diecast ones (I may just suck at balancing my plastic figs though :slap:dunno).

That makes sense, especially since the panels needed for ab articulation would really add to the tooling costs. Although it's a bit of a waste that they included the new codpiece flaps for extra articulation to the legs like in the MkXLII and WM2.0. Personally, added leg articulation wouldn't be as useful without ab crunch.

It's very possible they reused parts of the mk42 and WM tooling for the legs. Hence the same flaps.

Yep, good points, Motux. I have to say I like that there are engineering differences between the figures, too. I won't be removing the torso plate that often, but it'll be a feature I'm sure I'll appreciate when I do.

Thanks guys. I've gotten so used to people calling me full of it and an idiot on here that I fully expected that response again. It's nice for a change to get other responses. Lol
