Does anyone have a picture that shows the suit straight on with the gaps hidden by the shoulder pads? I have been searching through all the pictures and I only see side views where you can't see the large gap but I am concerned that is just because of the camera angle - all straight on views the opening is very clear. I read the shoulder pads can cover it but I wanted to see a picture of how well they actually do as that is really the only thing bothering me with this figure.

Yes I get that. But that doesn't take into account the lost 250 some dollars for an order. They went from having a contract to buy the figure for full price to having 31 dollars. And given that th figure is now eligible for things like coupons, even if it sells, it won't be the full price in most cases. And you add up all those canceled orders and some won't sell at all. So that's nearly 300 dollar lost per PO canceled that does not sell. On top of the extra administration work, warehouse space and time. It's not free money.

Every time a person POs a figure sideshow is obligated to order it. They place their orders long before the final product is out, based on PO pace and past sales. So ssc has committed to buying that figure from hot toys already. And has a deal in place with he person that POed it for the retail price. If that person later cancels sideshow will almost never be able to sell it for full retail (if it's not gone to waitlist) as it will be eligible for coupons and double rewards and what not. And then if it doesn't sell out it gets steeper discounts and sets on the shelf. And maybe eventually gets given away or sold in bulk to another retailer that does older sales or parts like toy anxiety or bbts for pennies on the dollar. That's dozens of sales of 300 dollar items they now have gone from guaranteed to lost. 31 dollars allows them a little bit of wiggle room so if half of them at least sell they cover the coupon loss. But it's still a net loss. Only way an nrd would be free is if it almost never got used and every figure sold out before it was coupon eligible. Otherwise they will loss some money

But you think eventually those orders that were cancelled would eventually be bought and paid for once the item is officially released?

My guess is this ends up a clearance item based on the people posting that they are canceling. I certainly won't cancel mine. And who knows, the people on here who are upset and canceling are probably a very small percentage of customers and may not represent the typical HT customer.

To me, the bigger issue is that they are releasing so many figures, and with increasing prices, I think many buyers may burn out. I was one of those guys who ordered almost everything comic related. Back then, that was a sub-$200 figure every month or two. Now, it seems I am getting two $200+ figures a month. I know I am starting to slow down because it is just too expensive.

Yeah. This is one of my worries about this figure. Luckily, it looks like the gap can be covered.

The shoulder pads are movable to cover the gaps but I think the draw back is that might scratch the paint if you're not careful.

Yeah as long as u have his arms at his side though :lecture
So like every other Iron Man figure? :lol Don't get why people are so up on about the shoulder gap when that's been a problem for a while on most of the IM figures.

The Mark 42 and Mark 43 is the exact same way.

They solved it with the 1/4 Mark 43 though by making the shoulder armor on it's own rotating joint. This eliminates the shoulder gap and I hope they engineer this for the 1/6 counterparts.

Do those smart guns lay down any? Cuz they were flat against the body in the film. I see no reason why they have a articulated hinge, it doesn't need to move up and down.

The Iron Man Mark III Exclusive is wait listed. Sideshow has a line of customers to fulfill cancelled orders for this particular item.

What I would like to know is when does Sideshow have to put their order in with Hot Toys. Is it before they actually put it up for pre-order, or maybe a month or two after they see how many pre-orders they receive?

I'm just sad the Mark 3 got pushed to September...I was really looking forward to getting this bad boy mid August. :gah:

How do you know this and how do I get these updates? I just order this and Sideshow still says "Expected to Ship: Jul 2015 - Aug 2015"

Many of us got emails this morning saying our flex payments had been pushed back to align with the delayed shipment date. It looks like it'll be shipping late August or early September.

Well my flexpay got pushed from August 5th to August 25th. So, I'm guessing they will have it in their warehouse before this date. Otherwise they would've pushed it September 5th or a later date.

So, I'm anticipating to get this bad boy near the end of this month :yess:

There's a standard amount they are required to purchase to sell/act as a distributor. But if the PO moves fast they can adjust the order UP for a set period of time. Between 30 days and six months depending on the lead time. The exclusive may be wait listed but the other is not. And accounts for significantly more orders and cancelations then any exclusive. And only a small percentage of figures hit waitlist. And even those end up with cancelations after the fact. The exclusive total is set in stone. They make so many and that's it. It's a perk for sideshow for all they do for hot toys.

My friend's mark 3 also converted so I'm getting two of these very happy and great start to my IM die cast collection. Will continue with two more orders once the next one retros with die cast.

Well that's good news...maybe I can jump in and pay it off at the end of the month and get mine as well.

This is a beautiful set of armor. Can't wait. I've got the Mark 45 on order as well and that's a beast. Cool as **** looking but this is just beautiful.
