The 43 also has its torso extended. I think that has something to do with the height discrepancy.
I'd love to see a picture with the 43 WITHOUT his torso extended. I know it would still be taller but maybe it wouldn't look as bad.

Its mark 43 thats not accurate, RDJ is short guy. Mark 43 should little shorter than Capt , Thor should be taller than iron and cap. But they all on same height

Guess they used the AU Mark II as the primary source of parts, but I hate that height difference.

So are other IM figures more accurate? Is there a height difference between other armors? If the MKII was the same height as the diecast MKIII is now at what point did the figures start to get taller? 42? sooner?

The idea that the mk3 is supposed to be some dark red or burgundy is not really the whole story. The majority of the darker red shots of the suit are CG or lighting. The practical suit was a rich red. It's painted over a bright silver base. The suit was designed and supposed to be a flashy red, shiny and in your face. The stunt suit had a darker red becuase the material was dark and rubber often takes on a deeper tone unless you seal and prime it a lot. Which for a stunt suit it doesn't get.
The color on the figure might not look exactly the same but it is by no means outrageously off base. It looks very close.

If you'll read closer you'll see that my complaint is that this suit is a different, brighter red than every other red suit I have. Its brighter than the Mk 7, the Mk43, Silver Centurion, Heartbreaker, Red Snapper. The color is flat and has no depth or metallic look that the other diecast and plastic suits have. It looks like non painted colored plastic to me. The color is not florescent and insanely off base but it is different enough that it is all I see every time I look at it (its like the human characters in Polar Express). I personally would probably prefer a darker than average red on the Mk3 but if it were at least the same shade as the established Iron Man red I would probably be fine with it, but it is not. If you really think that it is supposed to be that way then fine, keep patting yourself on the back at how right you are about everything, but it doesn't change the fact that I dislike how it looks.

Between the color and the torso sadly this suit looks completely out of place in my lineup, I don't do museum poses and I have no hall of armor, so I've got no compelling reason to keep it for how much it cost. I will probably offer it up in the sale forum here at cost if anyone is interested (its an EX) soon, if no takers it'll be headed back to Sideshow.

It's different color red. I got that. It was painted with the same color auto paint. It's not hot toys fault marvel changed the paint codes after the first iron man. Both the gold and red where changed from im1 to im2.

As far as it being flat or looking like dyed plastic...sorry. Have you actually seen in painted plastic? It's not even close. In no way does it look like raw plastic.

This armor is awesome and I can't wait to stick in my HOA which will be finally full.

I'm really glad I decided to shred my Bones armor to create a custom Construction Bay display for my work shop, I would not have wanted 2 Mark 3s displayed so close together.

Looking at all of these pictures I can't believe some people think they used the same parts for this armor and the Mark 3 Construction Set.

Here's a couple really quick and dirty pics

Christ, I didn't say "I think they forgot to paint it huur", I said the flatness and finish of the color makes it look more like simple plastic and not a well painted surface to me, especially when right next to all 16 of my other armors, that and the handicapped articulation makes it look cheap and out of place and not worth $310 TO ME.

That last pic was indeed awesome. More so because there was the earlier pic of the 43 glaring down at the 3, as if a smack down was about to happen.

The Mark 3 actually looks better in this new batch of photos than in the previous ones. It's probably the lighting, but it has a richer red hue and looks less plasticky. Is that accurate at all (in this lighting scenario), or is that just how it looks on camera?

yeah the arms are lowered there, they can be raised back up some. Not to mention the 43 shares the flawed shoulders of the mk42, the mark 3 has no excuse as to why they didnt improve the shoulder design.

Hey roc. Sent you a private message, but not sure if it went trough. Very interested in this if you plan on selling. Let me know either way. Thanks in advance.

Damn. The mark 43 looks out proportion compared to the 3. Legs look skinny & short, thin midsection & the separated shoulder designs. Planning to get the 1/6 but might just get 1/4 instead.

I am torn on this Mark III. Completely. I want it, but at the same time don't like the harsh "V" of the chest and
mid-section. Hate that there is no ab crunch. Have grown to like the Mark 43 so much that I just don't know
which way to turn.

I plan on getting the 1/4 Mark 43, so maybe just having the 1/6 and 1/4 of the same suit would be the best
bet for me. I really only want one solid Iron Man figure in my 1/6 collection.
