Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

The pose in this photo reminds me of that TDK movie poster:

And look how much better the figure looks compared to v1 in that pose.

I've seen a lot of pics of the V1 with that gut problem. Mine seems fine you just have to position him right but still the chest is a massive improvement.

That new pic above from toyworld is awesome! Shows off the new suit beautifully. I tried a few times posing my V1 in a similar way but it never seemed to suit the figure... The posing possibilities with this new DX are going to be 100 times better than with the V1 :)

The v1 is an ugly figure from low angles, best shots of it are from elevated angles.

Yep. In fact, the more I look at my V1 now the more I'm growing to dislike it. I had intended to keep my V1 on the Batpod after the arrival of my DX, but now I'm not so sure as it will just stand out even more how chunky it is. I might need to buy an extra DX body for the Batpod!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Low angle shots are actually what led me to dissatisfaction with the v1. I like how the low angle depics Batman in the theatrical poster, even have a full print on my wall, and I wanted to capture the figure in similar ways but the chest really creates some odd shapes and I tried getting images with him in poses I thought would look stunning and the chest just made him look goofy, it drew me to noticing the film chest proportions more.

And he's flying over the water as we speak. Come on, EMS...don't make me wait. I think I'm more excited for this than I was for the Joker.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I think all in all, Batman is a better upgrade. Joker, for the most part, was the PERS upgrade and the new coat, the rest of his clothes were essentially the same, the head wasn't anything really new. Batman's the same armor but he's pretty much nicely overhauled from head to toe, I think he's the more upgraded from the v1 to DX of the two.

Here's a quick manip I did of the TDK poster using the new Toy Hunters pic.....
The original poster is on the bottom
DX Batman on the top with the text

I'd have to agree. Did we figure out if it's going to be possible to put the sonar head on the v1 body?

No, but I would assume yes, since the neck is loose, I would imagine the connection in the body is the same ball joint they always use, and my guess is, the DX neck is probably skinnier than the v1 or at least the same, not bigger though. Unless the necks on the DX connect to something else than the usual ball in the torso, you should be able to use either head on the v1.

I'm looking forward to redoing my poster, one thing I was happy with in it though is that the lighting in my room pretty closely mirrored the source for the poster shot, with a proper looking figure, could probably really make it tough to tell if it's the original poster or the figure.

I hope so, because my original plan of putting the backpack on the v1 is probably not going to happen.
