Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

This figure took my breath away. Awesome job HT!

Quick question, if you're looking at the figure's lower right ab, is there supposed to be a set of stitches going across??? There's even a piece of thread that's coming out. Don't want to touch it since it might get worst...

That's a snag. If you pull on the material at both ends of the snag, you can get it to go back a little (the hanging thread) then cut any that's still hang.

unfortunately, it's a common problem that has been expressed on this thread of the QC issues of the outfit, People have been reporting about defects in the suit like that one, I've encountered at least two to three material defects on mine, but oh well.:slap

Oh okay, thanks for the heads up.

Yeah the snags are pretty frequent...I had one pretty big snag on a sleeve and it bugged me so much I got an extra one off of TA but even that one came with smaller ones. Still switched cuz it the smaller ones were better than the one big one in my mind.

Probably because of their bare hands from the shop staff. If I remember correctly, one of the behind the scenes photos I saw the Hot Toys workers handling all these with gloves... it's been that long since I can remember what it was. I just remember them with air guns and gloves before they packaged them up.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I got my Reeves Superman this week and as per usual for Hot Toys did an awesome job! It's absolutely stunning! Beyond belief! I believe an action figure can fly! My only question is why is the flight clip black? Why not clear or blue?

Hmm, I guess I can think of mine as being a battle damaged superman...lol

If you want it blue, paint it.

Have you tried using the spare wrist pegs?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Finally had time to unbox this figure, and it is indeed a beauty.
It's not easy to make such a simple design work, but HT really pulled it off.
And my string of good luck regarding QC issues continues. Absolutely no snags in the suit, no crooked S, no shiny spots on forehead. Everything is perfect.

any one else have the problem of the wire sticking out of the cape?

I had one hand that would slip out of the peg. All I did was wrap a small piece if masking tape around the peg and reinserted. Now its good and tight.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I got my Superman after 33 years of waiting and was quite astonished at the level of detail. After a few days of finding my perfect pose the thing that really bothered me was the cape which arrived wirey & unbalanced whereas the movie cape had an elegant structure. I looked at some stills and videos of the real cape and saw that it had alot of folds which allowed it to expand or shrink as needed. I wanted a resting type pose so I tried to smooth out the wire kinks and began shaping. I slowly worked in some folds with my fingers and a bic pen while maintaining an overall balance to bring the size down and look more in scale with the body. I made it so the sides curved out as well. It's not perfect but you can see that it makes a big difference and really sells it from all angles. Now I'm really in love as the cape has character and scale. I encourage you take the time to work with your cape as it has the potential to really make this figure pop!
