Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figurem

any one else have the problem of the wire sticking out of the cape?

Yes mine has this Problem. I can push it back in a bit and you can't see it but still a bit lame.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I got my Superman after 33 years of waiting and was quite astonished at the level of detail. After a few days of finding my perfect pose the thing that really bothered me was the cape, It came was messy & unbalanced whereas the movie cape had and elegant structure. I looked at some stills and videos of the real cape and saw that it had alot of folds which allowed it to expand or shrink as needed. I wanted a resting type pose so I tried to smooth out the wire kinks and began shaping. I slowly worked in some folds with my fingers and a bic pen while maintaining an overall balance to bring the size down and look more in scale with the body. I made it so the sides curved out as well. It's not perfect but you can see that it makes a big difference and really sells it from all angles. Now I'm really in love with this figure as the cape has character and scale. I encourage you take the time to work with your cape as it has the potential to really make Supes pop!

I had one hand that would slip out of the peg. All I did was wrap a small piece if masking tape around the peg and reinserted. Now its good and tight.

THANK YOU!!:1-1::wave

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I wished the peg going into the hand was easier to remove. It's so annoying and it hurts my finger tips. They should have given two extra pairs of wrist pegs int his case.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

This figure took my breath away. Awesome job HT!

Quick question, if you're looking at the figure's lower right ab, is there supposed to be a set of stitches going across??? There's even a piece of thread that's coming out. Don't want to touch it since it might get worst...

Super.jpg

I made the mistake of pulling one of the fine blue threads that was sticking up and cause the same type of "run" you show in your pic. I was able to fix it by grasping the blue material only and pulling, quite hard btw, with the "run" in between where I pulled in all different directions and it went away.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm sure every Hot Toys Superman has a snag on it somewhere, some small and unnoticeable, others larger.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Ya, those snags are gonna be a common thing on the Supes due to the fabric used on the costumes.

:monkey3

That was a bit weird and so was the comment Supes made about the games they played in school where he was making himself disappear.

Yeah I learned that the hard way...good thing it worked out for me otherwise my OCD would have been going off forever.

Mine has a small snag on the left thigh. I am not going to touch it. It is small and barely visable. Not worth potentially damaging it further.

A lot of weird stuff in that movie. To my eyes, Superman's moral compass seemed a bit skewed. So he has no qualms murdering his enemies at the end, he has no problem wiping Lois's memory, and he is even so petty as to seek revenge on some guy who bullied him when he had no powers--which was really a mix of revenge seeking and showing off to/intimidating the local patrons of that diner.

Iron Man, I can see doing that kind of thing. Superman? Kind of weird.

Part of the Donner footage that was cut had Luthor and the three kryptonians, now powerless, being loaded into a snow vehicle and taken away by authorities.

Once safely away Superman uses his heat vision to destroy the Fortress of Solitude.

he has no problem wiping Lois's memory

Lester's crappy fault.
In the original script during the fight at the fortress Ursa would have killed Lois by snapping her neck. Superman defeats the villains and then turns back time by flying around the world to save Lois.

Superman 1 was being filmed at the same time as pt 2. Pt 1 needed a stronger ending and the idea of Lois dying and the turn back time trick was grafted to the end of pt 1. Donner and Puzo did not have the opportunity to write a new ending to pt 2 when Donner was fired. Lester dropped the idea of Ursa killing Lois as it had already been done in pt 1. Thus the Donner restoration is missing an important piece.

and he is even so petty as to seek revenge on some guy who bullied him when he had no powers--which was really a mix of revenge seeking and showing off to/intimidating the local patrons of that diner.

Even funnier in the semi-restored Donner cut is the continuity problem of this guy having absolutely no idea why Clark just kicked his ass.

Again, a shame Donner and Puzo didn't get to re-write the ending of 2.

Yeah, I knew some of that stuff, but I can only understand the movie as it is shown, and in that sense. . .wacky.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I actually really love the ending at the diner. One of my favorite scenes in any film. I'm sure it was an audience "cheer moment".

Never liked the original ending with Zod, Ursa, and Non. I prefer the cut where they were powerless and were seen getting taken in. Pretty poetic now that they'd be nothing more than powerless humans.

Yeah, and in fairness it is a "check your brain at the door" type movie. That film didn't need complex, three dimensional characters and a logically coherent storyline with lots of subtext and symbolism. Superman and Kryptonians beating the ____ out of each other in the city was enough.
