Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

well, if so lighting makes miracles!

Besides, though I haven't bothered reading all the details earlier, why did they change the display figure a little later?

My guess is they revealed the new sculpt too early before it was official and promptly repaired their mistake.

My guess is they don't want any cancellation if some people still think the fig is subpar. They probably prefer we have them in hand first.

And somehow, this may explain why we don't have pics of Indy either...

I'm not convinced we got a new a sculpt! I think it's lighting.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Why do you say it's a new sculpt?

His eyes look darker but that could be lighting or a new paint app.

This has been gone over a number of times so you can check back through the thread for comparison pics.

So far the evidence for new sculpt
1. S curl on the hair is different and longer
2. Eyebrows are different
3. Eyes are larger
4. Lips are wider

Based on 2 very average pics I'm still on the fence - but hoping some changes have been made.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Wow! You're offline for 5 days and everything is different when you get back! So sorry if some of the things I'm gonna say have already been said but I'm too lazy to read back all those pages.

So first, new headsculpt? Looks awesome. I can really see Reeve here and the comparison pics show haw much the first one was a complete fail!

The boots? Didn't like them but I was sure they'd be improved, and Lo! They are improved!

The Logo controversy? Okay true! inaccurate and I preferred the first version but I'm going to defend HT here. I don't think they're responsible. It must be in the DC contract. Look at all the Supes that have been released over the years. None of them, even those supposed to be Reeve, have been accurate. I think DC is behind this. Same for the blue (always too dark!). They probably have licenced the "correct" colors they want Supes to wear and the merchandising companies probably haven't got a lot of leeway here...

all in all, I'm starting to very much like this fig! :D

Not sure about the DC theory?

I can't see why they'd want the logo to look different to what it was. As many have said, it's fairly close - but if it can be closer then DO IT! GET IT RIGHT HOT-TOYS! WHAT A BUNCH OF SLACKERS!!!!

Amateurs.........Huh :slap

The eyes do indeed look bigger to me but it'd be nice to get front-on pics.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I see no difference in the hair curl, looks the same distance from the eye brows.

Both eyes and lips tend to look longer when viewed from above.

Sorry guys, I think this is all wishful thinking.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I don't think it is a new sculpt! Hair is the same. However, I think it is an extensively modified sculpt!

Look at previous pics where the head is in the same position; It's clearly different. But sure, the base is the same with modified bone structure, which was what was lacking in the proto. I even think the mouth (which, for me was the detail that was throwing the likeness off) has been completely resculpted, as was the bridge of the nose.

But one thing is sure, the pose makes it difficult to say for certain and any doubt will be dispelled when we get more pics...

Why do you say it's a new sculpt?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I think I see why the "S" is different. It's slightly smooshed to fit the buck, which apparently isn't exact in all 1/6 dimensions... and I don't care cause it's still freakin awesome! :horror:panic:

For people who do not have access to FB or can't be asked! :lol

Top two pics from HTC's first ACG 2011 set posted.
Bottom two from the second set posted 11 hours ago.

Can you really look at these and say the "S" isn't different? :huh

See below:

I truly don't believe that there is any photographer in the world that could make this:

Or even this:

Look like this:

It's not about lighting, shadows, angle. It's about face structure.

The wide shot proves that it's not just about angle:

And I strongly suspect PERS.

Man, I can't believe how much it looks like they shrunk down CR now.

I'm bamboozled and dumfounded that there are still people that can't see the difference between these two sculpts.

"S" is more 'complete' in the new sculpt. It's also a separate piece.

And can anyone in good conscience say that the lips aren't wider in the new pics? I mean they are almost a pucker in the old pics, by comparison.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Some people genuinely believe its the shadows...

I'll just say, let more pics come out ;)

This might have already been answered but I'll ask anyway - Where are the latest 2 pics from?

Surely if they're fan pics from a show there would be others and somebody would've taken a better angle pic than these two.

If he admitted it, there'd be nothing left to troll but the boots. :lol

He looks like the Evil Superman now. I'm canceling.
