"...One for my master, One for my Dame, One for the little Boy that lives down the lane." :)

Actually, one for one of my buddies who doesn't have the luxury to buy himself one of those things, one that will stay in the box until I decide what to do with it, and one for me. But yeah, I think this fig is a grail.

Funny, I called that one pretty well. I could tell that you were enticed by the "wow" factor, but when you said you were sitting on the fence, well...$400+ is a lot of cabbage for something you don't absolutely love. I enjoy the hell out of the Iron Man movies, even though IM was previously not one of my fave Marvel characters (sucker for X-Men and Spidey) - RDJ's charm brought me around to the appeal of this character. Iron Monger/Stain was far and away the best villain of these two movies. And the figure is like...I dunno, gives me shivers like the HT '89 Burton Batmobile.

If I could be sure that there weren't going to be too many other figures I'd want to pick up in 2012 I would get Iron Monger for sure. But yeh, I don't quite get the shivers for this figure that a big IM fan would, so in a budget that stretches to around 12-16 figures a year, I have to be more selective. Pity, this thing is going to have some shelf presence that's for sure :)

I might end up having to cancel myself as I have a big move coming in early 2012.

One of a kind piece that I was waited sooo long... Can't believe it's true...

Awesome pose indeed. Put the crushed Mark 3 helmet in his hand & have his foot pinning the BD Mark 3 to the pavement :D

It's all a matter of what you want. It's a ton of money for a toys/collectible. Everyone who collects HT Marvel figures wants Monger. It just becomes a matter of affordability. I'll probably get one. Especially since flex pay is available. I value him at 2 regular 12". And thats @ what his price is. Plus, I know if I don't get him now, I'll regret it. And a year from now, be crying because I'll have to pay $800-$1000 for him.

And I would never criticize SS or HT for pricing on anything. We ALL have the choice to not buy from them.

Invest?? Who says Monger would go up in price?

bigger chance of it going up than going down.

i bit the dust on this, ordered 2 big ones. Not a fan of the monger or that big an Iron Man fan, but this is just too terrific. And besides, can always sell it if i need the money for something else (i.e. Batmobile, Green Lantern, etc..)

Wow you spent nearly a grand on something you don't really like, your life is good my man :lol

I have always been a statue collector but this really does tempt me due to the fact it does not have any doll like qualities and have been wanting to have a hot toys piece to see what the attraction is and there have been no iron monger offerings from sideshow. Im a huge fan of the first iron man film and this is big enough to display as a stand alone piece as well.... oh geesh i think i pretty much got myself convinced :gah:
