Egon and Slimer look great! Your first picture of Egon is blurry. I also wish they put the Ghostbusters all out at once in a four-pack. I wonder why they're spacing them out so much.

THX-182 is there a way to open up Egon and Slimer from the package without damaging the package? How well did it work for you? I like to keep the packaging, and I was wondering if when you opened up Egon, that you can easily put him back into the package and reseal it, or tape it up. Let me know. Thanks!

The packaging is excellent for collectors! It has 'female' indentations in the plastic bubble that pop onto 'male' counterparts on the card back. So there's just a few circles of tape holding the two pieces together that you need to cut. No glue or anything to slice open. It's probably about the best 'bubble packaging' for MOC collectors possible.

Yeah there are the male and female tabs that plug into each other on the bubble and card back as well as the tape you just need to slice to get the bubble to properly come off. The bottom of the bubble is folded under and taped on the back of the card also so the bubble should be like a clam shell with the card. I don't know this for a fact as I ripped my first Egon open and didn't care what happened to the card. I have a second that I am keeping MOC that I took reference photos for you.

They may be hard to make out the tape and little details we described but may give you a good idea:

Yeah, I agree that the special item Egon SHOULD have come with would be the PKE Meter! Why did they put Slimer with him? The perfect choice for Slimer was Peter Venkman, since HE was slimed, not Egon. It would've been cool for Egon to also come with a small petrie dish of slime that they collected from the library at the beginning of the movie. I remember Venkman saying "someone sneezes and you wanna keep it"! :D

Well they said Egon was first because Harold Ramis was the first to sign his likeness over. I guess Slimer came with him because they wanted to include a ghost and Slimer was the first ghost they busted and by far the most iconic.

Wonder what Venkman will come with? Maybe he'll come with a non-translucent Slimer. Though it'd be cool to have something new and unique.

Yes has thx said ramis was the 1st to sign off so thats why he was made up and released 1st. as for the PKE , i read that they will be re-releasing a 'clean' egon figure with the pke metre.

Yup, there will be clean versions and watch there will be "marshmellowed" versions. prepare for variants a plenty.

Well at the rate these figures are getting put out, it will take forever to get said versions. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't stand having to wait a whole year to have a full team of four Ghostbusters. I mean they are 6 inch figures, not high quality 12 inch figures like Sideshow or Hot Toys...

They pump out one Masters of the Universe figure a month but can't give us one Ghostbuster a month? Idiotic.

Yeah, it seems weird. Because Mattel seems excited, as well as you can gauge genuine enthusiasm from a business, they talked about all the variants they'd like to make, all the second tier characters and even getting into The Real Ghostbusters. And I'd love to buy every single one of them. Slimed, clean, marshmallow covered, GBII uniform, with slime blowers, street clothes, lab clothes, Walter Peck, Janine, Louis, Dana...I'm excited to have them all on my shelf. But I'm just worried the more casual fans will be annoyed about having to wait a year and relieved to finally have the four Ghostbusters that their desire to wait the months and months for any further figures and months will vanish.

But then they have this really lazy rollout that seems to negate all the excitement they appeared to have. Maybe after this first year and they can better gauge interest(assuming that they sell very well, fingers crossed), they'll speed up the release a bit.

Exactly. If they plan on having all these figures and all these variations, which I would gladly buy every one of them, they need to put them out at a faster pace. Putting out one then skipping one or even two months between releases and the line will die rather quickly I fear. They need to kick these out fast to generate the interest and excitement. They have lots of versions they can do so I don't see why they can't roll them out faster.

My greatest fear with this line is that they put them out too slowly and thus fail to make this line all it can be. I think 2 or 3 years to get as many Ghostbusters as He-Man figures they have currently released is too long. What the hell are they thinking? The market is out there waiting to buy these.

You don't see Hasbro only putting out one figure a month do you? No. They put out waves. Several figures and keep the fans satisfied until the next wave.

I definitely think Mattel needs to rethink their strategy and put out one figure a month minimum like the MOTU line.

I'm actually confused as to what they are releasing in terms of the 12 inch figures. In some shots the 12 inch figures look cool like the ray and egon figure in these shots

One minute ray looks like this

the next he looks like this?

If they are variants how come the headsculpt and clothes look so different? I mean i can understand the equipment changes but one looks passable as ray and the other looks nothing like him

if you look in the shots taken at san diego comic con and on mattycollector.com's site they look very toyish and not a lot of work put into the sculpts at all especially the ray figure he seems to have 2 different versions yet on mattycollectors site only 1 seems to be up for release and it looks like the one with the goggles who looks nothing like ray.

I'd like to know which ray i'd be getting if i order. I mean id be pretty miffed if i ordered the one in the first pic and ended up getting the one with the headsculpt that looks nothing like ray and the baggy clothes. The first pics seem to be from new york comic con in february and the third pic from san diego comic con and also is the same one as on mattycollectors site. It looks like they have gone with the ones with the fabric clothing and poor headsculpt. Looks like i'll just be getting the 6 inch version of these figures..
