yeah this is awsome jon, if uwant a cool belt set made up guys id def check out astros stuff. hes been making up some bits for me so im hoping to get them soon. but they look awsome.

i managed to get the fabric web belts awhile ago so hes been adding the gizmos and stuff to them. and his elbow pads are cool and super detailed in the pic. like he said, hes even added the stitches to the sculpt to make em look stitched!

I have one very VERY poor photo of the pad sculpt here

https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a337/_astro_zombie_/100_3877.jpg

I used my set of real ones as the reference. Its textured to look like felt-cloth and has the stitches sculpted in. I made cast of them in resin, hollowed out the backs, painted them, and now I'm in the process of making the cloth bands. If I do a run of them it will probably be like 5 or 10 bucks for a set of 4 (for all 4 GBs that is). I may also do a run of belt gizmos where I use small clear glass beads and thread for the nixies, aswell as having screen accurate circuit boards. If there is enough interest Ill keep you guys updated here.

And I guess if I REALLY get alot of interest Ill just do a whole kit with proper Motrola radios, key rings, gizmo, and pads. I know the GBs gear like the back of my hand thanks to 2 years worth of work on my Ray figure and 1:1 scale pack and gear :chew

Im' in for anything you will produce! :D

maybe this has been addressed already, and if it has i apologize, but are there any plans to change the pants on the 6 inch venkman figure so that they cover the boots?

Mattel has indeed said that he will have unique lower legs so he can be untucked.

My Rays get here today, I'm very excited! Come on UPS man....! :joy

yeah the 6" venkman has untucked sculpted legs, and the12" has un tucked pants too.

the only down side to the intucked pics ive seen of the figs, the legs are not long enough for venkman, if u notice in the movie, his pants completly cover his boots apart frm the frnt bit, and are quite baggy at the bottom.

They are long enough if you use a smaller body... since Mattel's Ray is about 13" tall, any 1/6 scale standard body should be OK...

i think he's talking about the 6" version but i might be wrong

EDIT...maybe not. just looked at the 12" pics and you're right...the pants are pretty short

Ahh right thats great kuzeh! thanks for that!! i jst wondered as i dont want my venkman to have half mast trousers lol :rotfl:lol

what body would be best or ru using again for these then? im very tempted to try get ht bods providing i can get gloves sorted.

I got my 12" Ray in yesterday and I gotta say he looks great! The sculpt (to me at least) looks a lot better in hand than in pics or video and the gear looks awesome. The Proton Pack and trap are very well done with lots of detail. Overall for the price Mattel did a great job on him, I'm in for the whole line! :rock

Woo hoo, the Rays have arrived!

Like I've mentioned before, I'm not a seasoned 12" collector, I only have Sideshow's LOTR figures and their Indiana Jones...and I think my lack of knowledge is a blessing because I'm pretty impressed with everything about the figure. I can totally see how after being a collector for a while how you'd have much higher standards, being accustomed to higher quality elements, things always getting better and better. I can see how the things already mentioned in the thread could bug you.

But the belt doesn't really bother me, neither do the boots, and I think the elbow pads will be easy to fix with just some black elastic. The head is pretty weak, I'll likely replace it soon, and put it on a new body...but overall, I'm still very happy with him and can't wait to get the others.

Oh, and I haven't noticed anyone mention this, but I don't really like how Ray's constantly hunched over a bit from the angle of the neck. Maybe I've just not played with the body enough, but it seems like his head will always be crooked downward slightly.

glad ur happy mate. hopefully mine will be here soon. they are on their way.

and yeah i guess if ur a die hard gb fan or quality is important, alot of us will be making changes to these.

im glad we got packs now tho that look in sizewith the figures as sadly nickatrons where oversized, which was a shame as he did an awsome job on making em.

i got 1 of his so i might get alittle case for it and display it in a clear box.

One aspect of the boots I don't like, and have always hated on 1/6 figures, is the restriction in ankle movement and complicating posing/balancing...are the nicer military boots made of actual textile instead of molded plastic? And therefore allow some of the ankle movement?
