You never know... if there was ever a figure to go big on it would be Vader. Although I'm sure the Stormtrooper ES will be even higher for the army builders out there.

Between Ex. and regular, I can see the Stormies tallying somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 pieces, the first ever 2 piece allotment for an Ex. edition, that I know of, and troop builders, and a reasonable price. I'm getting 2 myself, I know a lot of folks doing 2 at least. Take the number of other SW figures sold and double it and that should give you a rough minimum ES for Stormies. Averager Regular is like 5000 pieces or so right? So 10K plus is conceivable.

I don't see SS making anywhere close to 20K Stormtroopers, prolly not even 10K.
I dont know that are allowing you to order 8 2 ex and 6 regular. They must be making a ton to allow for 8. Pus they have made 10K of other figures that were limit 1 and 2. So I say 20K is not out of the question but 10K is guaranteed

If I were a gambling man, I'd wager over 50% of Stormtrooper customers are getting at least 2.

The shipping and customs is their own countries fault not Sideshows. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying people shouldn't complain that people who did pay get to order first. I can't fly to London and get the Galactic Marine so should I ^^^^^ and moan because GG is doing this or how about the Gen Con event in Australia where I couldn't get the Indiana Jones Bust there? This is how things work in the collectibles world and SS will be gving those going a chance to get it and probably a chance at several since the Es is gonna be above 1977.

The customs charges are something that Sideshow has no control over, I will give you that, but shipping charges? Those are something Sideshow does have control over, and I have read of a number of cases where people have been hit by some very high shipping charges as the result of Sideshow's CHOICE of carrier.

As for other international exclusives, I actually think these are pretty unfair too, and the response to GG's practices (yours included, as I might infer from your post in the thread about the Forbidden Planet bust) is that a lot of people want to give up on GG because of the amount of exclusives they are issuing. But those are completely unfair comparisons anyway, as they were designed to be exclusive to a particular store/event, as someone else pointed out, Vader is a SSC exclusive, not an SDCC one.

I actually don't think it's fair to have given people an advance chance to order at SDCC - that was essentially a PPPO, Prior Priority Pre Order, rather than a PPO, access to which I thought was meant to be a reward to Sideshow's supporters. Everyone should have the equal opportunity to suffer through server meltdowns. :lol

Good post, fair play

Dr No James Bond was 17,500... so it w/in the realm of possibility. I would say 10K is likely, or maybe having a fairly open-ended edition for the regular version. Like MF, I'll get 2, and I never buy duplicates of figures.

Not for the exclusive version, that will be limited... but the regular stormtroopers might be more open-ended.

If I had to guess I would say its 4k+ EX Stormtroopers and at least 10-15K regulars. I think they may even do a run of say 10K regulars then maybe do smaller runs of a few K after that and leave it open ended.

Nice thing about that is if you really want to get crazy... in a few years you can probably get them for dirt cheap.

If it was open, or they were going to wait and see, why wouldn't they have an inclusive order instead of a PPO?

I think the inclusive concept is dead because it grants too much freedom for them to let demand set the numbers because people can just place and order, makes SSC think they need to make that figure and then people cancel because they weren't serious.

Higher ES figures allows Sideshow to determine an ES that's acceptable to them depending on the final sales outcome, but big enough to almost give the freedom of an inclusive edition to customers. Jabba and Maul Inclusive left SSC with figures on the shelf for a long time, I think they want to avoid going through that ever again, but where they know demand will be in large ammounts for something like an ST, I think they'll make larger than average edition sizes.

Gotta agree with ya... Inclusive seemed like a great idea, but lots of people buying and canceling left Sideshow high and dry.

Yeah inclusive is dead or at least thats what I heard. They had way to many cancellations due to.

I have to have 2 Stormies flanking Vader so I have never had any illusions about getting any less than that.

Josh was only going to order 1 until I portrayed the devil on his shoulder and twisted his arm. :monkey3

Did this involve hitting him with your Indy whip? :lol

Considering for not much more than the price of 1 Medi Stormie, I don't know how you can pass up 2 of SSC's, Stormies just have to be at least a team of 2, I can't envision rogue Stormies, which is why I never got a Medi, it would have been like $250 to get 2.
