Hi all
Just to let it be known for the public
These commissions are mine
I approached Rainman for the opportunity to get these characters made .. The man himself never heard of the show nor the characters
Richard is one of them.. I did my own research on Richard, sent him all the details and basically got him made as accurate as possible
I've been collecting for years and I'm not a regular here and I don't spend enough time on the board
What's funny is that I was asked to come read this thread by some of the guys i know as I never knew these debates exist..
I know some of you guys know me even by name but some don't
From reading this thread it saddens me to see the level of disrespect shown here from some people who don't even know me
I personally feel that I've done nothing wrong
I'm a collector who I know these artists and speak to them on a regular
I don't know how many people actually know Rainman , but to be fair the in my eyes haven't done anything wrong
Rainman was so proud of this project that he asked me before posting these images on his Facebook
I didn't object because its his art but I knew there will be consequences like whatever happened until now
I don't want to make this long but I believe this project was the result of a relationship established between a collector and an artist
Nothing more nothing less
I think people need to go my introduction thread which is the only one and see where I'm coming from
if any one wants to speak their mind .. Then Pm me
Other than that I don't have anything else to say except that I got nothing but respect for all of you and I ask for nothing more than that

For what Rainman gets for these releases it's only a matter of time before the right combination of sculptor/painter/tailor gets together and throws a challenge at his business model. Like Denny Kim and some of the other bootleg companies, Rainman's advantage is being overseas where the cost of living is cheaper and you can ignore Cease and Desist letters without consequences. American artist would have a much harder time marketing the unlicensed run, plus fairly compensating the artisans involved in production. There are other projects coming out with people using Rainman's go to tailor. It's only a matter of time before new players step up. Loyalty is a two way street. How many collectors here would throw Rainman under a bus if another group of artist came along and offered equal or better projects? Those who genuinely care about the guy should be happy for him that he has a client who will pay out that kind of dough. I would think that without exception it would be much easier and more rewarding to try and satisfy one client at a time, than a group of people who all have a slightly different agendas. If people are really that upset they should boycott the next release as a protest.

There were never individual threads filled with so much passion for them figures you mentioned. Travis Bickle is at a different stage altogether than the ones you mention. The ones you mention we're really just speculation, Bickle has been given the green light by RM himself.

i own 9 private ooak commissions by rm, whats the big deal. yes they are private. 3 are bill the butchers with different clothing. they are for me and noone else. i have 4 more down the pipeline. why is this an issue? if you want one email the man. geezz.

My girl actually has a little interest in all this. Sometimes I catch her reading when I leave the page open on the iPad and then she starts asking questions . She's hip to a lot that goes on on the board and she always asks about the latest projects. Guess I'm lucky

to the rm community,
a note on respectable criticism. its all fine and dandy. until it becomes to the point where its relentless, you can say you buy his releases, love his work, and say you have the upmost respect for him. but if you think he not showing the tweaks and commenting about jules is because he is busy with private commissions your nuts! to me its clear he is pi$$ed off big time. and who can blame him, the amount of "respectful criticism" is nausiating. i know he is an artist and should be able to take it blah blah blah, let me see anybody be o.k with what went on with the vincent and jules. more way more jules. another thing, sometimes "'sorry" is too late. this isnt directed at anybody in particular. its for the whole rm crowd. this man has bent over backwards at times to please the "minority" i think. most are very happy with what he puts out. there is no way the majority is unhappy all the time. so when he tweaks and re-works its for the lesser percent. to be honest sending him a private pm or email at this time is worthless,. the man is upset and thats that. if any think i am wrong go and re-read this whole thread. you cant help but feel bad for the guy. he has been chased away and its best for all of us to shut our trap's and lay low for awhile. and not 2 days, until he breaks the silence and comes back on. he gets it, just stop commenting and leave this alone. but, now with this private commission thing, the flames are just going to get bigger and bigger. the rm freaks relationship may have changed forever.

Yes, it was meant to be a JRS Vincent from the offset until the majority started moaning and wanting gangster Vincent. That doesn't mean he is going to commit to another.

The thread was for Doc and yes he might have said he would like to make Ringo in passing. Getting a member to announce Bickle and start a thread for everybody to contribute, get excited about it, is totally different in my view. The point being, I will eat my proverbial hat if he would now decide to go OOAK on Bickle is all.

Yeah, you love rainman, but you constantly "suggest" things that he creates. It's really disgusting

The hater speaks again. IDK what point your trying to make but the only drivel around here is coming out of your mouth. I've bought 2 full sets on the secondary market. My other 5 full sets, 2 painted heads & 2 unpainted heads ALL came directly from The Man. I'm just collecting, d__k face. I'm not doing anything differently than anyone else here who is buying straight from RM or from another collector. So all of this "buy your way in nonsense" your saying makes you sound like a senseless fool (and a hater) who doesn't know WTF they're talking about.

And I've apologized about my approach several times but I won't apologize for having expectations; many of us here do and MANY of us chime in about them. Maybe you don't have any high expectations for the items that you spend big money on. Maybe you can throw around $850 so easily that you really don't care what you get for your money. And on a side note those talking about who is moaning and who is expressing disappointment chimed in with a fair share of their own disappointment. Let’s not forget

EDIT: And since you're and old-schooler I'm sure you've seen talk from the interest threads about "these are just guys in black suits", "they're not RM worthy", etc. I don't think that I'm the only one that felt that in order for these to be a cut above what's easily bashable they need accurate high quality accessories that aren't easily found on the market, accurate outfits and proper heights and physiques. I never meant disrespect buy my suggestions on a good body for Jules. I would never dream of telling RM how to sculpt or paint because that's clearly his forte but I think that there are people on the board that are better versed in the bodies on the market and RM could use some advise on the matter. This is no form of disrespect. Don't get it confused
