:lol at Thor and Iron Man. I'm old enough to remember all of that.

For the hell of it they should have slipped in 1977 Spider-Man with Nicholas Hammond.....

NOw that'd be a superb "fake" Avengers film from '78. :clap

Next weekend could be a tough for Dark Shadows, if people would rather watch this again?

Dad and I are going to see it but I agree with Carl I don't think this movie will light things on fire either way. I think the movie will be fun but I don't see this being in the top 10 BO for the year.

All the other heroes are beyond being shaken by almost dying. Even Widow blows it off...usually. Why did the Hulk rattle her sense or mortality? Personally, I feel it was more because she does not feel in control of the situation when it deals with the Hulk.

I understand the rattling of near death, what I saying is being who BW is and all her training etc. and I'm sure this was not the first time she has come so close to death. It just seemed a bit out of character for her to be left in a such a state of shock even when dealing with the Hulk.

Yeah, watching that part left me a little confused. Like there was something else going on in her mind apart from the near-death experience.

Multiple issues here. One, Loki got to her, she shook it off and did the whole "thanks for cooperating" deal but even as she is talking to Hawkeye before the climax, she obviously is influenced.

Two, she thought she was in control of the situation, even saying Bruce over and over, not Banner or even Dr. Banner, but Bruce an attempt to strike at his core humanity. It didn't work. He was so fueled with rage that he came after her as if she were a stranger.

This wasn't a firefight or even kicking the crap out of a bunch of enemies, even in the beginning where she is held captive and playing scared she was always in control. That freak out moment was the realization that her gun or her skill, nothing would have saved her from The Hulk and it was a position she had never been in before.

Three, he kept coming. He was practically stalking her and it was that fact that if it weren't for Thor she couldn't hide anywhere, that old "Monster under the bed" mentality when in the face of these dangers that Whedon has done and done well in his previous projects.

All solid points there Mike, I'm looking at it now as a control issue, BW is in control not matter what issue she faces, i.e. Loki, being held captive but with the Hulk that's a different story. Everyone has their breaking point, Hulk seems to be BW.

I know that if I had been a kid watching this, this scene would have had me scared.:horror

Just got back from a trip to TRU. Shai may be happy/annoyed to hear that there isn't a single Hulk toy in stock. Kids and collectors are snatching them up in droves.

Anyway, after looking at the original Captain America design for this film (that is on pretty much EVERY piece of Avengers product) I do think that Whedon did make a mistake in changing the costume to the one used in the film from the one that they were on obviously going to use. He just looks so much better and cooler with the exposed ears and more militaristic suit. Oh well.

I also wasn't a fan of the movie costume going into the movie yesterday. I will say that, in motion, it didn't look so bad. With the helmet off near the end of the movie, I think Cap looks pretty cool.

Oh, I don't think he looked bad in the film, either... except for a couple of shots where the helmet looked dorky. But the original design looks so much better.

They'll be a new suit in Captain America 2 and I wouldn't be shocked if there is one in The Avengers 2 as well. One thing they do well is Marvel fubar'd the costumes enough to warrant a new one.

As for The Hulk, I hated the small Hulk hands that they gave out from these films, again for The Incredible Hulk as well. The movie may not have been the best but nothing beat the Hulk hands from the original Bana Hulk, I still have them, love them and will be the ones that I give to my son....although he seems to prefer Mjolnir to anything else.

Did anyone notice that when Tony was laying on the ground his suit had that burgundy finish that the Mark III had? It wasn't bright red like the Mark IV or VI. The CGI had it more red but when it was in the Stark close-ups it definitely had a Mark III look.

Saw it opening night. Usually hate sitting in a crowded theater, but I had to see this in an actual movie theater. The crowd was awesome, and actually made the movie feel more involving.

Hulk stole the show! When he punched Thor in Grand Central Station, and then obliterated Loki in Stark Tower, I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in a long time!

Can't wait to take my kids to the Drive-in to watch this again!!!

Tell me this doesn't look better:

There's 2 things that look wrong about Cap in the film

1. The helmet... terrible, would have been MUCH better if it was like this promo art above
2. The suit it way too tight on him. If he had bulked up more, it may have worked, but as it is, he looks more like a cosplayer than an actual on screen big budget superhero.
