I dunno, I understand where Khev's coming from. While I considered LOTR to be enjoyable, I didn't really consider it "fun." LOTR was more dramatic and rich vs. Avengers which was funnier and considerably more light-hearted. That probably doesn't make sense. :lol

I get that it's a different type of fun but the lotr movies and the avengers are on my very short list of where I had so much fun watching them or watching them multiple times. If that makes sense.

Every Superhero movie will now have a Hulk vs Loki scene. :lecture

Superhero humor is back in a big 1 Billion dollar way, somber is now out, WB and Nolan are now doing a Home Alone slap to their faces! :lol

Joking, joking, there's room for both to coexist, and maybe even in the same movie, just like in real life, go figure.

*WB is making Nolan insert a lol moment of Batman slamming Bane just like Hulk did to Loki. :lol

My cheeks were seriously hurting from smiling/laughing so much at one point midway through Avengers. Just the fact that the one SHIELD agent in the middle of a crisis was A. playing Galaga and B. went BACK to playing Galaga in middle of said crisis as soon as the boss left the room.

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Oh hell yeah :hi5:

That's cool, we each have our likes, wants and dislikes. :hi5:

For me, I will forever remember the awesome experience of the Avengers midnight show alongside fellow fans.

It's the best theater experience i've had in years, better than the Prequel Trilogy and Kindom of the Crystal Chimps.

That was my correlation to Raiders, great crowd movie, that's all.

TDK was no less of a movie because the audience wasn't laughing out loud or cheering, not that kind of movie.

But Avengers was great in that regard.

:duff

I agree the audience participation adds to the experience, I just don't like it when it goes overboard!

And yeah, I had a huge goofy grin throughout most of the movie!

How the Widow didn't go crashing like Evel Knievel into the raised ledge on the rooftop after jumping off that sky skiff is beyond me! :dunno Oh, it must have been her bracelets because they light up! :slap

ie; If Nolan had directed Avengers and that same scene was in it, it would be considered very realistic. :lol

Joking, I don't even know if you like Nolan's Batman.

I'm just going with the theme of the day. :lol

I'm kind of surprised at the enthusiasm for Avengers from some of you like thenam and IrishJedi. Pegged you more as DC diehards.

Ignoring the chance to stomp Nolancompoops, there's no denying that DC has the longer standing superheroes. However, I've always appreciated Marvel's more human approach to their characters. DC's universe is far too black and white whereas Marvel's has depths. While you can't always agree with what their villains are doing, you understand how they got to that point.

I'm much more of a lifelong DC fan than a Marvel fan, though I do like both (Cap has always been in my Top 3 personal favorite comic superheroes and I still do buy and read some Marvel books).

What I'm not, though, is stubbornly partisan or blindly loyal, like too many fanboys are. While, overall, I'm more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy (and always have been) I can still appreciate what's good. And the Marvel movieverse is cool, fun stuff and comic book movies don't get much better than THE AVENGERS. Hell, popcorn flicks don't get much better. I love it.

And that's where I'm at too. You just don't see that too often. :lol

I'm as diehard a Cap/Marvel fan (well, at least up until "Heroes Reborn" and everything after, including the current modern universe) as they come and I was actually pretty critical of a lot of what was being teased about CA:TFA and The Avengers before I saw the finished previews and the movies themselves.

Thank God they delivered! :yess:

:lol
After Shawarma they wen't to Disneyland!
