I would have to say his Dinosaur work was the best imo. I don't think we will ever see studios make 1:1 Dinosaurs like they did it.

yeah that was REAL film making. l watched the first JP special features. when the big T-Rex got wet from the rain water it had seizures and would start shaking because the inside electronics got wet. they would have to wipe the T-Rex down with towls. nowadays studios would never go through that hassle. they would just make most of it CGI. which doesnt look anywhere as good. unfortunately that kind of film making is in the past npw l think.

hell ya. l watched the first JP not to long ago and was still blown away by the dinos. and that movie already is almost 20 years old.

Aliens had only the 1 huge Queen, but each Jurassic Park film had multiple full size incrarnations of the Dinos. Even though JP3 wasn't as good as the first 2, that Spino thing was just ridiculously huge and impressive........gotta be way bigger than the Queen easily. The next JP film won't ever be held in such high regard as the first 3 in terms of craftmanship. I would love to know where all those SWS 1:1 Dinos got auctioned off too. Maybe Dino museums?

the Spinosaurus robot in JP3 sucked though, regardless of how big it was. it didn't have natural movements like the T-Rex did. just looked more like a robot to me. l never got the robot feel from the other dinosaurs.

The inaccurate Spinosaurus did have a more life-less feel to it.. But it was still great.

The two T-Rexes in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" still impress me to this day. A lot of great emotion and suspense in the trailer scenes when it was needed, plus some great movement and realism when they needed to be more aggressive. Winston was a genius.

A 1:1 Alien Queen, which was in all respects a giant puppet, that was a collaboration in design by H. R. Giger and Stan Winston vs a 1:1 dinosaur design seen 1,000 times before that was a giant robot. Alien Queen effects win hands down, IMO. But, considering CGI was the easier route, but he chose to go with traditional effects in lieu of that, definitely up to par with the Queen.

i'll say plenty bad about Predators and that AVP crap.

i'll sum it up in a flash.

Predators- rip off wannabe sequel of the great Predator, with a horrible crappy cast. not only that, it really had no story or back ground of why they were there. no info to how the one character new about the events from the first. this movie equals taking badly designed predators killing people we don't care about. no answers were given about what was going on. this movie was a disgrace to predator.

AVP films. i'll sum it up. the original 90s Dark Horse comics of Alien vs Predator had better story lines and characters, nuff said.

well l won't argue. we went back and forth many times when the movie first came out. l only watched it once and don't remeber much off the top of my head. l thought all the characters were bad.

l mean Topher Grace, you got to admit that was a casting screw up, he screwed Venom and now this. and of course the chick with the nice ass had to live, tipical.

we all have our opinions. l personally hated it.

my opinion. this movie pissed on the leg of the original. AND IT OFFENDED ME.

Wait, you hated it because Topher Grace wasn't manly enough, and because Isabelle didn't die? What?
Edwin wasn't supposed to be some big macho military guy with hundreds of weapons..

Most of the other things you stated are false.. It's like you didn't even see the movie.
What horrible designs were there? The designs were freaken amazing.

Really don't see how anyone could think the characters were bad..
I cared about the characters. I didn't find the movie to be an "Ah mah gawd! Disgrace to the whole Predatah franchise! Deah Lord how will I eva go on!" type of movie, but eh..

Seriously, it's okay to share your opinion, but when you go around saying stuff like "DISGRACE TO PREDATOR FRANCHISE. CRAP. GARBAGE.", and not giving any real proof of how the movie was so horrible.. It just gets annoying.

It's the same thing with AvP....

AVP sucked, flat out. It broke so many rules of the Predator/Alien universe.
AVP-R sucked, but Wolf was awesome, and the Predalien design was great.
Predators was more of an homage to the first to reboot the series and get it back on track, so in that respect I enjoyed it.

The Predalien design destroyed more of the Alien/Predator lore than ANYTHING in AvP did..

What rules did AvP break that AvP:R didn't/make worse?
Yeah, I didn't like the Elder wearing a cape..
I didn't like Scar's "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?" face, when the Queen popped out...

The movie that destroyed everything was AvP:R. The designs didn't make any sense. Wolf's design was cool, but he acted like an 8 year old...fighting toddlers... When he was supposed to be a very old (to us) veteran, Cleaner Predator, who would be sent down to deal with problems... Like, the Seal team 6 or whatever, and Osama.. Predalien being Osama and Wolf being the team...
But, he came across as a complete moron.
Predator fanboys are blinded by his holy grail design, and what he was supposed to be.

Most of the story in AvP was safe, nothing that could cancel out the other movies.. The Queen was bigger. They gave a reason for that. The Alien designs were different. They've been different in every movie.
The ancient, pyramid-building backstory went way too far, but it didn't ruin anything..
