1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 306 - Avengers: AoU - Thor Collectible Figure

There are several small reasons that add up to why I want to upgrade my LA Thor to this: the fact that he's taller, the silver armor looks better to me, the arms, while still rubber, look darker and a tad more muscular, and the serious expression. I wouldn't say the sculpt is better than TDW, but the expression fits in better with a museum display.

Funny, cause when the first pics were posted I wasn't impressed, but came around to it the more I saw.

I think you are right about the boots. The height difference is minimal. Like tenths of an inch. Two, maybe three.

I'm big on the illusions of "proper" scale, so I did some homework. The ankle pegs for AOU Thor are the longer version with the black foam padding. I just replaced my TDW short pegs with these to keep him a consistent height, he is en route from China!!

It's the AoU sculpt with custom hair, I saw it on one of the Facebook groups earlier

This makes the sculpted hair look terrible, sculpted hair looks toy like.

Yeah, it's a really good looking sculpt. No doubt.

However, I'm actually on the other side of the fence regarding sculpted hair. I feel that on male figures, sculpted hair generally looks better to me. Rooted hair (or similar to) comes across as too "doll" like on male figures, in my opinion.

Even on this? Might be on of the most realistic sculpts I have ever seen. It literally looks like Thor as if he was standing in the flesh.

Rooted hair on all figures is the next evolution I think 1/6th figures need to take.

Sticking with Dark World Thor but bought this figure's stand and maybe the foot pegs to make mine taller and his boots because they are a tad different and I like them better.
