Obviously no one knows for sure. But from my experience making that type of change would result in more then a ten dollar increase.

So this will be my Thor.

Unless he comes out like buffer and with a metal arm in IW.

They could probably just cgi it all in these days lol.

I don't have a problem with the rubber arms, I wouldn't do a very drastic pose for this character anyway.

My Thor arrived today and I have to say it's a really nice figure. Just waiting in the DW armoured body arriving in the post.
I've had a look over the AoU thor and it seem like it should be easy enough transferring the clothes to the new body. Would anybody be able to recommend a good glue to use for sticking the chest armour after swapping it over?

Top Ten Reasons Why AoU Thor May Be Considered A Fail.

Came across this on YouTube. What do you guys think? Some valid points, others not so much in my opinion. I'm still just as excited as ever to receive this figure and know it will most likely end up being my favorite Thor.

I'm with you, some of his points are valid, some not so much, some within Hot Toys' control, some not.

I agree that the app seems to be a complete dud as it stands now, and as any IT Marketing person will tell you, you need to catch people's attention...like he said, there's probably a bunch of people who downloaded it (me included), just to look at it for about 5 minutes and then delete it. There was a real opportunity missed there as an advertising tool.

I'm not sure Hot Toys is being "dishonest" about their pricing - premium licenses come with a cost added in. But it does seem to me that Hot Toys has gotten to the point where, if it's a character I really want, I'm buying it regardless of $20 here or there.

My big agreement with him - and this isn't a Hot Toys issue, but a Marvel issue - is there's no suspense anymore. While I'm excited for the new flicks coming out, you don't need to tell us the film slate for the next five years. Give us a little suspense here. He's right - when Avengers came out, I bought all of the main cast, not knowing what we'd see again. But now, I pick and choose which figures I get, because I know there'll be another one, and I can spread out my costs. Especially on a guy like Thor, who you know isn't going to change his duds anytime soon. For me, I also skipped out on AoU Cap for the same reason - by the time he was getting ready to come out, we already saw leaks of essentially the same costume in CW. Might as well wait. I'm doing that on everything now, it seems like. It doesn't help that Hot Toys doesn't tend to knock a figure out of the park until the second or even third try. I'm skipping Ant-Man, cuz I know there will be a new one from CW, and I may end up just waiting for the second film. Who knows? Probably going to skip Spidey and Black Panther this time out for the same reason. On one side, it's a good thing for us collectors, but as a fan of the films, I find it all becoming kindof like a mechanized factory instead of an anticipation.

I do think HT got stuck here a bit. They released Dark World Thor way too late and this one way to early. I don't see any need to get this one (my opinion, with a budget ;) ) if you have the last one. There really isn't much improvement. They should've pushed back this release to next year some time and moved up Scarlet Witch, Ultron, Quicksilver, etc to space it out better. It might have been a factory issue, but I feel like scheduling could've been done better. At least if it came out sometime let's say next summer, there's enough of a gap to say, "Hey, I haven't seen Thor in a while, let me pick him up!" Not to mention the app might've been in a better shape by then...

Most of what that guy says is crap. His number one "fail" is becuase it's from a team movie? How exactly is that a fail in any sense of the word?

He says the body will rot, essentially, in 6 months to a year, becuase he saw someone say it on th Internet. Even though the Thor dark world is well past a year old and outside of fools bending the arms to crazy degrees there are no issues. Most over blown issue with hot toys is this rubber body issue. People freak out about it, even though they don't actually have any with issues. This issue drives me nuts. Lol

The whole there will be more and we know there will be more movies. What a silly thing to use to label an individual figure a fail. Star Wars, transformers, and any successful toy line has that same thing. By his logic every successful figure and movie is a fail. It feels like he couldn't find any actual stuff wrong to complain about and get people to watch so he just made stuff up.

The accesories issue maybe...but it's Thor. Including the same sentry torso would have been slammed too. You know it would. And they add a second hammer and then he complains about that. So, there's not enough, but he doesn't want what he got. Again-seems like he's complaining to complain. As for not seeing a "blue" glowing hammer in the film. Well it's not a blue glowing hammer. It's the hammer with lightning effect. It appears blue becuase how the material glows under light. So, pretty sure we see Thor actually use the hammer and lightning in the film. And he brought up the blast effects on tank...yes it may not have been done great..but we have seen on film the chest rt used to blast. It's used to show that.

I agree with both of you, thecapn and Motux.

It baffled me when he used the fact that the figure is from a "team movie" as being a reason why it's a possible fail. By that logic, you might as well call the rest of the figures from the Avengers team in the AoU line "failures". Heck, while we're at it, let's call the Avengers figures from the first movie "failures" also, since they're from a team movie.

Even though the app is nifty, it does seem like it's one of those things that's cool for about 5 minutes. Once you've seen it, then that's pretty much it. Seems like it could have had more potential. Agree there.

The cost, I don't really seen an issue with. As the figures generally improve in detail and overall quality, I imagine the cost would increase; not stay the same or decrease.

I also agree with the accessories thing, but then again, what Thor figure has really came with a great deal of accessories? Two at most that I can recall for any Thor figure, including Mjolnir. Wait no, the first Thor figure came with his helmet, Mjolnir and the rock that Mjolnir was stuck in. So, three as being the most I've seen that I can immediately recall, and three accessories I think is actually a relatively fair amount.

As far as it being released too early, I also don't know if that's a fair thing to only single out Thor on. I've noticed that the figures in the AoU line that are having the early releases seem to be the figures that already have existing versions of that particular character and/or the preceding figure was recently released. Strike suit Cap shipped in April (if I recall) and AoU Cap was released a mere 3 months later. However, AoU Cap was a vast improvement from strike suit Cap and is widely considered to be the best made Cap thus far.

The light up Mjolnir I personally think is pretty cool. The intention is to not simply have the hammer glow, but to illuminate the hammer while attaching the lightning accessory that it comes with at the same time to give it the illusion/look that he's summoning lightning. That being the case, I can think of a scene right off the top of my head in AoU where he did indeed, use lightning. So yes, we did see a "glowing" Mjolnir in AoU.

Some valid points, but many were, "Eh, no." in my opinion.

Like I commented earlier, the rubber issue IS overblown but it doesn't change the fact that they should stop using it so that you can actually bend the arms on these figures. I would take a semi-ugly joint and plastic arm over these rubber ones any day.
