Haven't seen enough to sway me to get this guy since I already have the sleeved TDW version ... I've had mine holding his diecast hammer up for quite a while now. No issues.

Hmm that plastic one looks better.
The metal one suffers from muddy details... metal is not all that it's cracked up to be... can't do fine sharp details.

Yeah I noticed the runes and details look much sharper on the plastic. I'll probably be using that one when I get it.

I think the somewhat obvious battery cover (when raised over the head or fully down) on the light up hammer wrecks the illusion a bit imo.

Yeah, the details in the plastic, light up hammer are actually more discernible than the details in the die-cast hammer.
However, I still have mine wielding the die-cast one.
And rooted hair, did I just hear ROOTED HAIR! (Can't stand the stuff myself).
I generally prefer sculpted hair also, as it generally captures details in the hair a bit better. Depends on the figure though. For some, it works. For most, not so much. For Thor, I prefer the sculpted hair. Thor's hair generally looks wet and grungy, and is matted down to his head and around his face. I think sculpted hair captures this effect a bit better than what rooted hair would.

I actually find the plastic Mjolnir to look overall better than the DC one, not just in the sharpness of the details. The DC one is too shiny for my taste, the finish of the plastic one is actually closer to the finish on my eFX Mjolnir than the DC.

The runes might pop more on the plastic one, but I find the finish is closer to the Lager version rather than the eFX Version imo (I have both).
Don't know if I prefer the die cast because of that, or just because I know it's made out of metal (plus the battery cover as mentioned above).

As myopic as it sounds, I can honestly say this is why I prefer the die-cast one. Forget details, a hammer is supposed to be metal.

Got my Thor today. It's an xmas gift though... so I can only look at the shipper. Lol.
I know the feeling. I got an AoU Captain America zip-up hoodie for Xmas. However, it being a Xmas gift, I can only look at the shipper also.
