Hands down...the two best pics I've seen of this figure! Rekindled my interest in getting it.

Thank you Lexi, it's comments like yours and JorReno's that I take the pictures for :hi5:

I wasn't impressed by the majority of pics I had seen as I thought they mostly put it in a bad light, I hope to take some better ones tomorrow afternoon :clap

This is something I noticed also. Well lit shots or pictures using flash, makes the sculpt look nothing like him.
It's a very detailed sculpt, but there isn't much likeness to him. I think it's the mouth area that does it, and the head is too narrow.

In those two shadowed pics though, it looks spot on. Funny how that is.

I think the likeness is pretty good. In hand at least.

In well lit or pictures using flash, it's the nose and mouth area that looks off to me. The nose looks slightly elongated and the bottom lip looks sort of puffy. As you mentioned though, in pictures with shadow to them, it captures a better likeness and looks more like the way it does in person.

I'm using Phoenixblazes's picture as a quick reference to what I mean being that it's readily accessible, because mine looked exactly the same when I took an image using flash:

I really have no major complaints about this figure though at all. I think it's a well crafted figure and I quite like it. It's probably my favorite Thor figure in my collection, followed closely by the LA TDW Thor.

I hope to order him soon. And yeah, sculpts always tend look better in hand... TDW Loki sculpt comes to mind.

It's definitely a great figure overall, and I have the LA Thor too. Looking forward to upgrading to this, as I prefer the silver armor. I can't bring myself to get rid of TDW sculpt so I'm parting the rest of the figure off to help fund this.

That's a smart move. I like the la DW Thor. One of my fav figures. The Aou Thor is great too. Interested to see how Thor 3 costume looks.

Yeah, they usually do. TDW Loki sculpt is actually one of the better sculpts I've seen, in my opinion.

If AoU Thor was the only Thor figure I had, the only alteration I'd consider making would be replacing the cape with TDW LA Cape. That cape I feel is the best Thor cape thus far (my 2nd favorite would be the AoU cape) being that it's the perfect shade and I love the dirty effect at the bottom. Like you, I prefer the silver realms on the AoU suit and I also prefer the darker chainmaille on the pants. Despite feeling that TDW sculpt bears a slightly better likeness, I like the AoU sculpt slightly better because I like the hair color, style and facial expression more. The likeness is still good enough.

However, being that I have all of the Thor figures to date though, I just leave each one stock.

And yes, great shots jgmartinez! Perfect example on how the sculpt looks much better with shadow and looks more accurate to what the sculpt actually looks like in hand.
