No love for 45?

The more I think about it, XLV is a very odd suit for the final battle. If you look at all the different suits used for final battle involving IM, each suit is has its uniqueness that factors into the plot...

Mark III - the first red/gold armor with all the IM functionality
Mark VI - the first using the new reactor which allows for the wrist laser, it also has the sticky grenade instead of the missile (until they added that too in The Avengers)
Mark VII - the first with remote suit up with wristbands and super heavy duty ammo
Mark XLII - the first suit that flies apart and can be put on anybody
Mark XLV - the first with....???? F.R.I.D.A.Y.?

I'd say F.R.I.D.A.Y. was a pretty big connection to the overall plot. It was also the most organic looking suit which ties in with the "evolving bodies" theme of Ultron and Vision.

I think someone had read in one of the art books??? that the 45 was the new 'default' suit and was used because the 43 got beat up a bit.
I think the change was because of a possible alternate ending in which we see that Ultron has downloaded himself into the 43 (perhaps he did this earlier as a safety net for himself). That would keep Ultron's survival a valid plot point for the future. They would have had to switch suits so nobody would wonder why Ultron didn't take over the 43 when he was "killed" during the final battle.
Just a theory. We'll see.

The art book says the 43 was decommisioned after the Hulkbuster fight ... I guess at least some of it was still working since Tony summoned some pieces to fight Cap during their little skirmish. Bugs me a little that once Vision is born the pieces of the armor on Tony are suddenly done ha

I wish they paid a little lip service to the upgrades of Mk 45 and shown why the 43 was no longer viable.

That goes back to A1, when all of a suddenly JARVIS just says Mark VII is not ready yet...hahahahaha
I was like "What? He was making a Mark VII? where did that came from?"

Plotholes...is there anything you cannot do?

That made a lot more sense to me. We saw that he clearly needed a new armor after the helicarrier incident. Tony being Tony he always has something new up his sleeve. I thought that armor intro was very well handled.

It's not like we ever see Mk IV V or VI developed at all ... they just sort of show up.

well with new tech that tony has in stark tower i guess he could just build a new suit fast.
even the drones are repaired as they go.

I don't think it's a plot hole. From the first film and first suit it became obvious the suits are able to be destroyed so unless the guys an idiot he has to be at least working on or have made a second or third suit in case one is damaged. And if he is always working and inventing them there will be new upgrades to try. It's just like a race car. They don't just have one body or one engine. They have back ups and prototypes. If you need them to explain that over and over...seems silly after ten years.

Mark 45 looks to cool to pass up, the 43 being damaged by hulk is a perfect reason to need a new suit.

Oh yeah ... I'm definitely getting it. Just wish it got more attention in the movie.

As far as upgrades, it seems the lasers are no longer one-offs and the chest rt blast is more powerful.

Same here, most likely will get it. As for the one off laser..that ended with Mark VII.
As for (unibeam) RT, I am surprised for its size, it's more powerful than XVII??? hahahaha

I'm really glad that the lasers are back. Plus he actually used the chest RT which seems to be rare. I also love that if you watch the flight of the suit, it's got back boosters like the MK7 for stability while he blasts.

I'd say he just used the Mark 45 because it's likely more powerful than the 43, it's just not as convenient. (who knows, maybe he needs a suit up gantry for this suit of iron swag)

while i agree with you, why would he goes backward?
mark 1 - needs helps from yinsen to don
mark 2-4 - needs help from gantry
mark 5- could don manually
mark 6 - needs help from walking gantry on t he stark tower (or whatever its called) lol
mark7 - needs the bracelet to align/start suit up sequence
the rest of the mark till mark 40 could be don by itself
mark 41-42 - prehensile suit using the sensor that he installed in his arm
:dunno

Since Stark was on the Quinjet to Sokovia sans armor I'm led to believe that the suit-up protocol was at least similar to all the HPP suits in Iron Man 3 ...unless there was a gantry on the jet. Ha...too much is left to the imagination - 45's suit up and more of the Hulkbuster assembly would've been great to see.

I didn't need to see a full Hulkbuster suit-up. His foot stomping the pavement was a cool intro even if it was an exact copy of Rhino's intro last summer. :lol

Haha never noticed that. It was definitely cool but since they showed it in the trailer figured they would give us more.
