Yeah the Mk3 ab crunch thing was something not advertised before hand. True. But that's one armor out of a lot. And I'm not sure it's an added feature. And it's a small little item that adds just a small production cost.

But I can't see them adding a helmeted face, with lights and not having that announced at release. It makes little sense business wise. Something like that could add to sales that matter. They deciede production numbers in the first 6 (average) months a figure is up for sale. Those are the times that matter. After that they are making a set amount of figures at at set price, so adding any features only lowers the margins/profits with no chance to add to sales. As they are making a set amount by that time.

I'm not saying it's impossible, they can do anything they want. Their license, their money, their time. It's just not something that's very likely.

As for the articulation on this...it doesn't have the leg flaps so that lowers the amount. It doesn't seem to have all the swap out missile parts. The articulation points on the torso will be pretty much the same as the other diecast armor. Save the mk3. If it had that same feature they would say so in advance. Same as they did with the mk3.

I wouldn't read to much into the promo photos as chances are it's not fully articulated. Prototypes are often limited in their articulation.

Id say its an added feature as it does something for the figure that the figure couldnt do without it. As far the production cost being small who knows I mean they did have to design the rest of the figure around this piece somewhat, figure out how to implement it into the overall plan plus prototypes, testing, the mold, paint, plastic ect. It'd had to cost a decent amount of time/money working this into the figure. As for the helmeted face I agree we most likely wouldnt see that happening but we know for sure HT has surprised us before with welcomed last minute (to us) additions.

The figure wasn't designed around the piece. Or it wouldn't have been added after the fact. It's no different then the extra torso/ab piece for the mk3 const, just a different shape. They had everything else already. The took already designed and tested features and adjusted them.

Yeah man, it's just the fact you can rotate the hip up and the crotch piece is movable rubber.

There's actually zero waist articulation. You can't swivel it around.

To be fair....

You are correct that that pose is not from any type of ab articulation...but...the Mk 4 does have it. You extend the lower ab section up and it allows you to use it. It's not much but it's there on the 4/6. 5 does not have it. Here's pics...

Oh, we're talking about waist swivel. I know about the ab extending and all but that's more ab articulation as opposed to having a joint in the waist

It's got as much movement as the chest. And that's what you said was articulated. And I thought it was said it didn't move at all?
